| Dannythegamer said: The problem is Anouma. Twilight Princess has a large world to explore, but empty and without the danger lurking. Anouma received a lot of criticism about Wind Waker, but he kept the same structure in TP and SS, I know what to expect from Aonuma. Another thing, Link had no sword in the trailer, this is an attempt to take away the myth of heroism from the game . Adventure games - especially Zelda - need the heroic factor to motivating adventure, exploration and fighting monsters. When Wind Waker came out in 2003, people have criticized the structure of the game, and Aonuma promised changes, but no changes for the better but for the worse. Skyward Sword has a bad structure, seems the game was made by amateurs, SS has seven temples. Six temples in 3 different areas and you have to visit the same areas, 3 times during your progress on the game (the last visit, you have to collect musical notes - after speaking with the Dragon- in the forest area, an absurdity in terms of design and game structure). Aonuma has transformed the structure of an adventure game, into a puzzle game full of puzzle (and the bonus, Skyward Sword, has a mission of espionage, like MGS , what a crappy design). Structure of a puzzle game - repeat until you learn to master the game. Structure of an adventure game - evolution, you feel that you transform yourself from a weak character to a stronger character, Through exploration, combat against monsters. |
Honestly, I just typed up a response to you but in the end, there is no point. You are complaining about the past, and whining about some of the best games of all time because they don't suit your particular tastes. Get over yourself or play a different game...
This game seems to be taking every step in the direction you want it to but you are still going on with unsupported generalizations and assumptions...at least wait until we know more about the game before whining @.@

The artistic style is awful, almost horrible. An evolution of Skyward Sword. SS had a huge rejection due to his artistic style. Wind Waker was the pinnacle of bad taste.

In this pic you can see the shield at the back of the horse (dark epona?)
At the other side is the magical laser arrow you can see at the end. Next to it is the sword. Unfortunately, I don't have pics, but you can see at the trailer at 3:31. Once he take his magical arrow next to it is the sword sheath:

I thought it had more to do with the hand-holding, linearity and motion controls!

The problem is basically that Aonuma can not do a good adventure game with good combat with arcade elements. Aonuma was chosen by Miyamoto, bad choice, let it be said in passing. And this is not my opinion, the sales of the last games has fallen greatly, especially in Japan. The franchise in sales power to the general public has fallen sufficiently with the latest releases. This is not a theory, it's reality.

Aonuma can not make good adventure games, he just knows how to put elements of the puzzle that should have elements of adventure, exploration and action. Linearity and hand-holding are consequences of the inability of Aonuma in making quality games that should have elements of adventure, action, arcade and other factors.I blame Nintendo for wanting to shove motion controls in all their games on the Wii-time. Zelda does not need motion controls, Zelda never needed motion controls . In this issue I do not blame Aonuma.
