Actually, it's not.  Lasers and semi-mechanical enemies date back to the series origins, and Link's sword shot lasers in LoZ.  The triforce are Alien artifact originally designed as microchips.  You need to brush up on your LoZ knowledge before bashing.

Indeed.

Loking at the trailer again, it's clear that the enemy seems to be made of rock, and it's so old that vegatation has grew on it. It's like some sort of statue left by the never mentioned but always present ancient inhabitants of Hyrule that knew how to use magic or were technologically very advanced, and yet they dissapeared leaving all those ruins and old temples.

Please excuse my bad English.

Yes, he never fought Robots before? There were never any lasers before? Totally for the 2nd-10th time out of context? Damn you nintendo...

I find it pretty pathetic to not buy a game purely based on its artstyle.

I thought I'd prefered realistic Zelda graphics, but this is even better. TP was my first Zelda, but I've bought every Zelda since then except the DS ones (don't have a DS).

I did with WW im damn sure ready to do it again.

i wont buy what i wont like.

Srry but this right here is why people miss out on great games. The only person your hurting is yourself, good luck waiting 5-25years for a realistic Zelda, i'll be too busy playing  GREAT "Non Looking Realistic" Games :0

Edit: Dunno if you did play LoZ WW, its good but i like the othr Console games more (but the fighting style is great)

Just ignore it.  The whole "I am NOT getting this game because of the art style in a  10 second clip of one character in one tiny section of the game world" ignorance is something that cannot be fixed.

I mean outside the context of the trailer, not the franchise. I was talking about the trailer. They should put a more organic/ gigant monster (like that giant spider from tech demo 2012) to exalt the heroic side of the hero (in this case the Link). And thus create more empathy for the next trailer or info about the game.

Link having a ponytail and not the green tunic is so good.

The point of the trailer was to put something out of place. Do you recall what was said leading into the trailer about putting you in a peaceful situation and then a huge powerful monster comes out of nowhere? The whole purpose of the monster choice was for it to be out of place.

I have no idea what you are talking about with "empathy" though...

Why are people comparing this to Wind Waker? It looks nothing like it. I actually find this game to be pretty "realistic" looking (as far as video games go), with the obvious exception of the character models and the enemies. Which is just fine.

There have been lasers and robots in just about any Zelda game ranging from Ocarina of Time to Skyward Sword. Stop whining. Only start whining when they show of cars and guns. But guess what, we saw a horse and bow. :)

i want real gameplay to be shown. its already NOT the tech demo they showed off.

To me, this Zelda game is a wish come true.

I wanted them to make a game with the Wind Waker art style again, but with an adult Link... AND, I wanted Nintendo to come back to the open world formula of the original Zelda.

Both my wishes have been granted.

Seriously, this game looks gorgeous. They improved, perfected and matured the Wind Waker art style, made the world a marvel to look at, and it's gonna be open world... Zelda is making an epic HD debut and I couldn't be more pleased!

Give that game to me NOW!

The purpose of the trailers is to create empathy or anxiety to the players, and so they will want more information or news about the game. The game failed in this aspect. The artistic direction did not help, on the contrary, this art is a trend seen in Skyward Sword - one of the reasons why Skyward Sword be a commercial failure. Another problem in Zelda's developed by Anouma, it will always be a quiet place, with no sense of impending danger. Putting random monster from time to time will not take away the feeling of security, on the contrary. It is just "another random monster". Hyrule should always be a dangerous and mysterious place (hence the feelings in the old Zelda games, lost in these new games of this franchise - Zelda is an adventure game, but the sense of adventure was lost in recent Zeldas).

Hyrule should be a place full of monsters to fight for our safety, always and continuously. This feeling was lacking in Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and especially in Skyward Sword and Nintendo DS Zelda games. Putting a whole colorful Hyrule and a monster here and another monster there, does not bring the feeling of imminent danger of the early Zelda games.
