Forums - Nintendo - Zelda U: The Zelda title the Wii U deserves, but not the one it needs?

And nobody wanted it to look like that, they wanted it to look like this:

It was cool to see Zelda in HD for the first time, but personally I don't find that art style appealing and it's doing a terrible job at feeling like the Zelda universe. It looks like Link wandered into an Unreal tech demo.

The response from gamers to that demo was strongly positive though.

even if that were true, just because links eyes are big, it doesn't mean it's anime. and the enviroment is not cartoonish either.

No anime environment is "cartoonish." I never said it's anime because his eyes are big. It's anime because it's anime.

aside from the eyes, there's nothing in there that would make someone scream anime. it's as anime as the tech demo.

Do you even know what anime is?

This Zelda's art style is anime. -__-

True, so was mine initially, next to the pixelated mess that Skyward sword is on a large screen LCD tv. But seeing it again now, it already looks dated, while skyward sword has left a better impression. (Well with rose tinted glasses that is, screenshots are quite disappointing)

I agree that TP would have sold a lot better than this new mixture of SS/WW.
But I think Wii U won't be capable of the graphical style of the tech demo in the game we suppose they are gonna release.

Unlike the last time, this one Nintendo is promising a more big open world, similar to the first one, and that was a big complain during the last years. Aonuma has to choose between the artstyle or the world, and he choose the world. I'm glad, and hopefully they deliver this time.

bolded: What? it's already quite above the tech demo, and I don't mean aesthetically (altough it's also superior in that department).

To be fair, the tech demo had much better shadows, lighting, and reflections.

Only problem is, the Wii U probably wouldn't be able to sustain that level of visuals. The Zelda from the tech demo looked better than any last or current gen game, imo

Doesn't look dated to me.

bolded: no, it didn't have better shadows, lightining, reflections. and the zelda for wii u is ALREADY sustaining far more than the tech demo. anyone with eyes can see the difference.

Bolded: You are wrong.

Bolded italic: You're also wrong here, because, well, you are.

Bolded underlined: You are wrong because I say so.

The rest: It has a much bigger scale, yes. And overall, I think it's more pleasing to the eye than the tech demo.

Do you guys believe this will run in 1080p?

I mean it still is WindWaker engine right? WindWaker WiiU runs at 1080p

I dont think it will run at 1080p at all. The pictures they released are just for promotional purpose /wallpapers.
They also released HD SkywardSword screenshots to the public.

I don't really care about 1080p in this particular case. I just want Zelda U to be locked at 60fps!
