Because nobody cares about the Vita. Not being facetious, but that's the fact. Sony in particular and the industry in general don't change too much if the Vita is a failure. On the other hand, Nintendo's home console failing has bigger ramifications for the company and the industry.

GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

What is up with this? Deny it all you want, the Wii U is in better shape than the Vita. Check the sales, Wii U outsold it last year despite having little to no games, and even though it is currently being outpaced by the Vita it should pass it up soon due to the fact it has at least a little hope. Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Zelda U, Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2, X, Retro's new IP, and whatever else Nintendo has brewing up should help Wii U pass the Vita soon. I wouldn't be suprised if it did before the end of this year.

Well, Vita is more of a side system than Wii U. Wii U is Nintendo's major 8th generation system. Wii U will have more Mario, Mario, Zelda, and Mario. At least Vita has some 3rd party support and indie games to look forward to. I don't have either, but I would rather have a Vita than Wii U.

I don't really agree with that assessment.  The PS Vita is as much of a system as the Wii U is.  The PS Vita may not seem like it because it is a handheld system and Sony also doesn't have much history with handhelds given they only had the PSP before.  That doesn't change the fact that the PS Vita actually is something Sony had invested a good bit into.

Also, your view of the Wii U sounds like you don't own Nintendo systems.  Also, not sure if you noticed or not, but not as many Western 3rd party developers exist for handhelds than for home consoles.  If you had a choice between Wii U and the PS Vita, it wouldn't be about "Mario, Zelda" vs "3rd party support."  It would be about whether or not you are into handheld gaming or console gaming more, or very specific exclusives.

I think Sony themselves treats Vita as a side system. I wish they would support it as much as PS4. What makes Vita more attractive to me than Wii U is that it has a lot more Japanese 3rd party support. This way, Vita owners will have more Japanese RPG's and such. I only know of one JRPG coming to Wii U: X.

If we talk about niche Japanese 3rd party titles, I would say of course the PS Vita is better for that.  It's better than the 3DS for those kinds of titles.  But yeah, with your original statement that wasn't very clear and it doesn't really have too much to do with why Wii U doom threads are as common as they are.

Because nobody cares for handhelds except Nintendo.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Simply because something is doing even worse than your favorite system does not change the situation your favorite system is in. If that were the case I could make people stop thinking the Vita is doomed by having them look at the Ouya.

Simple explanation: the Vita doom threads already happened, you just missed them I guess and came to the forums right in the middle of "wiiU is doomed" season. Sucks to be you I guess.

vita doesnt have the gratest nintendo studios making games for it.
nintendo as developer is indeed revelant.

Both are equally doomed. The vita is actually in a better position given that it usually outsells the wiiU.

1.- I don't see many more Wii U doom threads. Might have missed though. Examples?
2.- The Vita is not in worse condition. At the moment at least.
3.- The Wii U did not outsell the Vita last year like you claim.
4.- I get the impression Vita owners accepted its fate long ago. I still see people claiming Wii U will sell 30/40/50/60m every day.

This sentiment hasn't changed despite Wii U still selling about on par with Vita for ages. Check my thread from one year ago:

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=159503&page=1

I started a thread saying both consoles were a disaster and most Wii U owners refused to accept this. One year on, and I see the situation hasn't changed much, despite it being clear that the Wii U is indeed a disaster (along with Vita).

No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.

Because it's the "cool" thing to hate on Nintendo.

I think there's more people who just keep praying for the Wii U to sell than people who just randomly hate the Wii U, but I don't have statistics.

And I guess I also still wish that the Wii U is going to sell. Sometimes being a Nintendo fan can be a pain. :P
