Digital Foundry never said it was 720p, that was a rumor caused by an article over on Eurogamer (and then spread by other sites).

Several other reviewers have also mentioned that the game is 720p, while also giving the game a good score (before you try to claim they are part of this great big conspiracy of yours).

DF have praised the parts of the game worth praising (such as the lighting and performance) and were also disspointed by other areas such as the resolution and lack of AA. Their analysis was incredibly fair and well thought out. People are just rather sensitive since this news hurts their agenda that the WiiU is some kind of super computer.

If that's true then it is what it is.  But I won't believe them (DF).  The Wii U is not a computer.  It doesn't have a mouse or fax machine.  It does have eDRAM.

Jesus christ not this again, even the PS2 had eDRAM, having eDRAM does not automatically mean a machine is magically uber powerful

I'm sure if they'd said it was 1080p you'd believe them ^^; and no, the WiiU isn't technically a computer, but it is built with computer parts.

And yeah, it has eDRAM. So did the PS2; eDRAM alone is nothing special.

Mark Cerny (the lead architect for the PS4) even stated that they purposely decided not to include eDRAM in the PS4 because it makes development more difficult. You should really read up on the things you're claiming to be so great ^^

You can read exactly why they chose not to here in an interview with him: http://techon.nikkeibp.co.jp/english/NEWS_EN/20130401/274313/?P=2

Day one purchase!

You know, it might seem awfully petty but I was really looking forward to getting a Wii U soon. But now this excitement got a heavy damper. I always thought 1080p for a WiiU games sounded pretty fishy but I didn't think it would be impossible. I was looking very much forward to MK8 in crisp 1080p60. I was genuinely excited.

Now reality got me again. 720p without AA just sounds repulsive.

Haha you can´t be serious.
People this days...

What's it to you?

I suffered through the latter half of last gen with all that 720p and no AA shit. That eye cancer will stick. And now it's supposedly next gen and I'm still stuck with this shit.

Yes indeed, first world problems.

WTF.... i hope they don't release this GAME at all!!!!

seriously nintendo! WTF

now let's play the buttery 1080p knack

1080p 60FPS is usually bollocks (in split-screen even more) so I'm not surprised.

No AA is indeed a surprise though.

Gonna be good anyway

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

My first reaction is who gives a flying f@#k, its a racing game where frame rate is more important than the resolution. Second reaction is I wish people would be consistent in their comments and not do a 180 when the game is revealed to be 720p instead of 1080p :P.

Not 4mb, we are talking 32mb.

Oh no! My Mario Kart 8 experience will be fucked thanks to this piece of news!

What a waste of time and money. 1080p is old, and to still fail to hit that mark is just out right pathetic. Now if it was state-of-the-art realism, then that would at least justify it. But this? This is another slap to the face of console owners.
