Aligned to Japan launch, the PS4 stacks up pitifully compared to the Wii U. Nothing on the horizon that will stimulate growth of PS4 in Japan.

There's also this thing where everyone believes console gaming is dead and that handhelds/mobile are the future. The WiiU at least is a faux-handheld/tablet.



I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I don't see anybody really arguing that the PS4 is doomed in Japan. Most people know that PS4 will eventually turn things around. The problem is that it is doing absolutely terrible in Japan right now, with no real system sellers for quite a long time. We all know that the Wii U is doing badly, but when the console that is doing the best Worldwide sells worse than the console that is doing the worst (in the same timeframe of the first 3 months of sales), its worth bringing up.

People love to "align" the Japanese launches of the PS4 and the Wii-U and conveniently "forget to mention" the months they launched in are not the same.

You have not looked very hard, but yes it's common sense, Ps4 will strenghten in japan over time, Japan is slower moving to a new generation.

i dont know why Japan is all of a sudden so important. Neither console is going to be putting up numbers in that country that is going to really affect the bigger world wide picture. Japan isnt into consoles like that anymore. And you can forget Xone

Umm no it wasn't, ps3 was the same way. The market is different now as well, things change. It's common sense, and anyone who is not in massive deniakl knows Final Fantasy , metal Gear, etc (Insert game here)...will greatly improve sales,
