Maybe you should... I dunno... choose your words more carefully.

"Would be nice to see MS Studios focus on something else besides what they focused on last generation."

Yeah, I do believe other games are also part of their focus. Otherwise they wouldn't exist and we'd only see Gears, Forza, Fable, and Halo. The media focuses on the games people want to read about, which are generally established IPs or games coming from major studios.

Maybe you should read what I wrote next time and realize that the word "focus" does not in any way mean that they are only working on those mentioned titles. Last gen their focus was a lot of Halo, Forza and Fable. They had Gears but it was 3rd party. Now they own it and they put their effort into that now to keep those (4) big games going. Just like last gen they also mix a few extra here and there along with many releases from those (4) franchises..

That would help and might prevent you from right away beginning the next portion of the conversation with words that try to make me look stupid, because you yourself failed to realize my point due to getting testy due to me saying something you must not have liked.

I would just like to see them created something new within their 1st party and put their financial muscle behind it the way they do with Halo.

I thought the new Black Tusk title would be it, but then they bought Gears and shifted it over to them instead. Which shows MS obviously wants to focus on Gears, rather than the new IP we believed them to be working on.

I read what you wrote and so did Seece. That's is why there was a discrepancy.

They are throwing money at new IPs whether they be 1st or 2nd party. So look forward to that!

Why would it change over the course of a ten minute conversation with you?  If MS announce a load of exclusives actually made by them and a few are new IPs at E3 I would start to change my view and would be happy to do so.

Who really cares if a exclusive is made by MS.  If MS is funding or publishing it then they have invested in that exclusive.  As a gamer I just want good games and I care little if the game is first party.  I care little if the exclusive will appear on another console in a year or 2 latter.  The reason is because I am a gamer not a fanboy.  In the end, all Console makers play it safe enough where you have established IP and you only venture to risk on new stuff later in the development of the system.  Case in point would be Sony this gen.  Early games are established franchises that have sold well and have strong audiences.

Generally I don't care either if it's exclusive or not. Just look at the biggest selling games from last gen, mainly they are 3rd party, except for GT5 and Halo-games. By just reading forums one would guess it'd be the other way round.

who would make it ? ensemble is no more.

This is Microsoft we are talking about. Im sure if they wanted, they could get any available RTS dev to partner up with them.

They are tho? Killer Instinct, Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, Project Spark, Lionhead have a new IP and stuff we don't know about

Sunset Overdrive & Quantum Break are 3rd party aren't they? Not sure about Project Spark. Is the developer a MS owned studio? Is that a MS owned IP?

I am strictly speaking about MS Studios 1st party development.

Also I believe with Lionhead the only title we know about right now is Fable Legends. They said they were also working on a non fable-esque new IP.

It does not matter if Sunset, Quantum are third party.  MS invested in those projects and are publishing them.  Which mean they had to approve those new IPs to put their money into.  Dismissing games because they are not first party as a gamer does not sound very good.

Will you cry within a PS thread about Sony doing another Killzone, Uncharted, GTA, or FF.  Will you cry in a Nintendo thread about them doing another Mario, Metroid, Donkey Kong etc.  Studios have established IPs and there are a huge fanbase waiting for those games.  Seem silly to not keep producing content that customers want.

They could probably even get one of the studios that were created by former members of Ensemble.

Halo wars 2 anyone!?!?

anyone??....

ok....

Seriously though, I'm fine with this as long as they are spinoff games leading up to 1 main halo game by 343.  Like Halo Wars, or Reach were.

They could explore interesting stories in the Halo Universe that revolve around supporting characters in previous halo games such as the arbiter, or maby something along thoes lines.

Not really.  Knack and DriveClub and The Order are brand new, and Killzone and inFamous are middling franchises.

As for MS, they have more than enough money to create new studios and still remain in profit for the Xbox division but they don't, they moneyhat exclusives and make the same games over and over again. The big question is why they go for short term solutions when they say they are in gaming for the long haul

Project Spark is developed by an internal first part MS studio, Quantum Break is first party IP.

Sounds kind of desperate honestly. Would expect declining quality if even if they outsource some of it

ITT we learn that companies focusing on delivering games their fanbase wants is "desperate".

aka all of the big 3 are "desperate". Look at Sony about to rehash Last of Us. Mario Kart EIGHT Nintendo? So desperate.

They have made new studios.

They aren't just making the same games over and over... they're making new games. They are even working on new IPs.

Man, MS is doing what you want and you still complain. How about giving a little credit where its due?
