At least Jar-Jar is still canon.

So, KOTOR and the Timothy Zahn books are dead, but at least Chewbacca lives . So... hooray?

Great, three terrible things happen at once!

Weren't they keeping some of the EU as canon by having someone trawl through it and pick apart the things that wouldn't fit?

I don't think the Thrawn Trilogy would stay since it takes part in the timeline of the upcoming trilogy but it would be nice to see EU material like the Old Republic and the Republic Commandos stay.

is it supposed to be bad?

It's the same as Abrams' Star Trek: throw out any attachment to the current material and build something shiny, marketable and bland.

The EU was 95% bad fanfiction, but there were good ideas worth keeping in there. This move is being done for the wrong reasons - not to improve the quality of the result, but so a whole new round of bad fanfiction can exist unopposed.

Extended Universe was confusing anyway because they could do anything at any time in the timeline. Not like say Marvel or DC which always progresses. But we already knew future events were out the window, this is just news past events were out too. KOTOR video games where nothing like the comics anyway.

But this is fine, at leas Tag and Bink are fine.

Hmm, pie.

So... Boba Fett never got out of the sarllac pitt.. :(

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Good, that way I finally am out of Star Wars, hope that this Abrams or whoever's shit will flop to eternity.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Spoilers for the last story arc of The Clone Wars: Darth Bane is canon.

And while I'm sad that KotOR is not canon... maybe this means we can get some new Star Wars RPG games that aren't an MMO?
