I bought the game at GS for 40 bucks, it comes with 30 days, GS has a deal if you buy 2 month more months they give you a 15 dollar gift care, used gift care to buyu 1 more months so all told I spend 75 bucks including tax and got the game an 4 months subscript. If I do end up renewing sub 4 months from now there is no was I would have found a better value on a console.

TF is 86, FF XIV ARR is 86 right now.

FFXIV is just as "eight gen" as TF is. Personally I think both games are high end last gen games ported with some improvements to the eight gen.

It is just as big, just not as heavily advertised. 2 mil active subs and counting speaks for itself and ALL THREE platforms play on the same servers. FF14 is one of the best MMOs to date and is exclusively on PS consoles along with PC. It is a very big deal and any who say otherwise is obviously a troll or someone trying to cling to the "no gaemz" argument (which was nothing but a joke to begin with).

On a side note the game gets massive updates every 3 months BECAUSE the game is P2P. I will take P2P any day over F2P and those who say otherwise have no idea how MMOs actually work. In a free to play game the pkayers who (pay to win) end up spending more in the cash shop a month than any P2P game and you don't get the frequent content additions over the life of the game.

I said Titanfall is above average to someone that called it average. I wasn't making a comparison to FFXIV. Furthermore, I didn't imply Titanfall more 8th gen than FFXIV.

Hence, you responded to a post that had nothing to do with FFXIV. Nice try though.

This is a pretty accurate post. Simply a lack of attention from both crowds. It's interesting to think about, if Titanfall wasn't so hyped would PS fans have downplayed it so much? And if it wasn't so downplayed would Xbox fans have hyped it so much? Someone should write a thesis on the console war mentality.

Titanfall is reviewing above average on 7th gen as well. Its an above average game, simple as that.

You're going into detail about what Sony did with PS3... but what actually encouraged many people to eventually buy a PS3 was significant price cuts years over year.

Clearly, I wouldn't say its the best or even the best so far, but its pretty damn good.

I'm sure bundles had just as strong an effect plus ps3 has only had 3-4 price cuts, so year after year is a bit of exaggeration. It wasn't just price they had to make the system a lot more valuable. Hence giving away a lot of stuff for free.

It is but Sony don't have to force it down our throats like MS do because that's up to SquEnix. You think the advertising for Xbone version of Titanfall costs come from EA?

But the question is good, both are pay to play and both are online only multiplayer games, and it probably should be considered the same.

Shooters are the big thing right now, and Titanfall comes from the creators of the biggest shooter series. The MMO genre on the other hand has a lot of competition and subscription model is on its way out. Also, the Final Fantasy series is in decline and has been for a good while.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is the best Final Fantasy experience currently on the market. Expect it to be online for the next decade or more.

The sub fee is what fuels its added content every 2-3 months with no extra charge. In comparison its like buying a new CoD map pack. Furthermore, 12.99 a month is less than buying coffee in Starbucks a few times a week, so people have no excuse to complain about the sub. Skip going to Starbucks if you have to, or skip launch.

Lastly. the player count is rising, so I think the game is heavily underrated.
