Average? No. Titanfall is amongst the best reviewed games on 8th gen at the moment.
The X1's "savior" is significant price cuts and numerous noteworthy games. That's the same thing that saved PS3.

Okay I will bite.
TF is 86, FF XIV ARR is 86 right now.
FFXIV is just as "eight gen" as TF is. Personally I think both games are high end last gen games ported with some improvements to the eight gen.

Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
