Forums - Gaming - While Sony Celebrates 'Infamous' Sales, Microsoft/EA Still Quiet About 'Titanfall'

In UK the XBox One with Titanfall is cheaper as without. In some other countries there are or were only PS4 + Infamous or Killzone bundles available so that you had to buy the games even if you didn't want. If people really want to let game sales look bad because of a bundle don't forget if the same is reality to the other game you try to look better in comparison. All these games sell better only because of bundles which people wouldn't buy with other circumstances.

This is pretty much the case for every exclusive retail game on PS4 and XBox One and even for some multiplat games.

Numbers don't lie. EA doesn't need to brag. Titanfall XB1 has a constant high while inFamous drops like a rock.

not surprising since 360 has a larger install base than xbone.

Titanfall was not the be all, end all, second coming, Halo like savior that fanboys hoped it would be. The game launched and then landed with a thud. I blame word of mouth and review scores which were pretty meh. A game can't eat on hype past it's first week. It actually has to meet it exceed said hype to had legs and Titanfall didn't manage to do that.

It sold much less than Xbox One

About 28k for 360's first week. 130k XB1 first week

UK is the world now? Also don't act as if those Titanfall X1 numbers have nothing to do with the Titanfall bundle being literally the cheapest option for a PS4/X1 right now in the UK. And the Infamous drop is entirely normal.

Not sell to 75% of the of the owners but push hardware really hard, and longer than a month. And also probably sell like COD in the early days. But who knows.

What's "CoD in the early days"?

If you mean CoD2, which launched with the 360, Titanfall is well on its way to dwarfing that games 1.9 million lifetime sales. It's already at 1.25 and that doesn't include what are likely great digital sales numbers.

If you mean CoD4 "early days", when CoD4 launched it had a userbase of almost 13,000,000 360 owners and 6,000,000 PS3 owners to sell to. Titanfall on the other hand was selling to an Xbone userbase of less than 4 million.

And how can we know what hardware Titanfall is pushing? Since the game launched, the lowest week of tracked Xbone sales are still higher than anything we saw this year with the exception of the very first week of 2014. Sounds like it pushed a good amount of hardware. And that doesn't take into account people who bought the console before the game launched in preparation. If Titanfall were on Sony platforms, I'd own a PS4 right now and not an Xbone.

Idk if you own the game or not, but it's strange how on this forum and some others, the people who don't own the game and don't intend on playing it, are the ones who expected it to do the best. I mean it seems like selling to anything less than 75% of the userbase on day one would not be good enough. The game is phenomenal and is selling great, nothing else should matter.

That's the point dude... they were hoping that TF would increase the userbase like crazy, which it didn't.

They are not selling every unit of TitanFall. They are giving away some included in the bundle with price cut.

Infamous on ps4 sold more units than Titanfall on X1 and nearly as much as Titanfall on pc + X1 + X360, what are they going to say?

wat?

You cannot compare the sale of TF and ISS. TF is basically free with the bundle and already in discount...

This leaves out many discussions of future games that are going to be bundled as hell. Say, for example, a next-gen Gran Turismo.
