Zelda HD gonna look insane

Not better than Twilight Princess 42 12.73%

Best game series ever created 139 42.12%

Best graphics ever 147 44.55%

You're just setting yourself up for disappointment.

MK8 really does look excellent though.

the only impressive part is the diffusive reflections tbh, texture and geometrical detail is average.

The lighting and v-sync'd 60fps are pretty impressive to me.

That's good for you, but having higher complexity lighting and framerates is a direct result of the lower geometrical detail.

Doesn't seem to be any visual detriment to me; there's no jarring polygon edges, models do not appear blocky.

Yeah I wasn't that impressed until I realised that this game is pushing a constant 60fps in two player split screen. A big single player adventure running at 30fps could look truly stunning.

I love Nintendo, always have. They are my favorite producers of top notch games.... But.... Yes, there's a but... I have lost confidence in their ability to make a huge, awesome Zelda, on console, that is comparable to ocarina of time.... I'm not saying I want another ocarina, I'm just saying I don't believe they will make a huge, sprawling Zelda like that again. I don't think they'll spend the money, or the time, to do that. Whatever it turns out to be, I'll buy it and love it, I'm sure.
I think everyone should prepare themselves for a far simpler Zelda. Sure, it may look pretty good, but it will never be the complex game ocarina was in its time. I don't even beleive they'll actually have it playable at this years e3. I'm expecting a generic trailer, that doesn't show much. They'll focus on mk8, and everything else will be kept under wraps....
I would love for Nintendo to blow up this years e3 with all guns blazing. They need to. But they won't. I want a full blowout of Zelda, x, mk8, a metroid, f zero, star fox, wave race, earthbound u, smash bros, a surprise partnership with capcom for a new mega man, and a few new surprise IP's that we didn't expect.

But, you know what? None of this will happen. Their e3 presence will be so small, they may as well not show up. That kinda pisses me off too, if they do that... One thing I do expect, is they will have a lot of 3ds announcements, and they will show that the 3ds is far from done, and at least my favorite little handheld won't disappoint.... Even if Nintendo themselves will.

Last build I saw (Feb 2014) had no AA so the edges were indeed jarring, the models are nicely detailed but lack of AA does show up creeping lines here and there (depending on curvature and straight line edges), it will look fantastic played on the wiiu gamepad im sure, but the gif in the OP does nothing to put across the detrimental issues of the title on a larger screen.

Mario titles (especially the kart games) have historically been low poly, relying on the art direction to hide that, and it does it quite well, but as a developer myself art direction is not the same as graphical effect, for me the diffusive reflection in the puddles is the most impressive part of the title, geometrical detailing and textures are lacking, and the AA treatment is near non existant, i'll no doubt pick it up, and the future zelda for my WiiU, but from a standpoint of someone who deals with these technologies day in day out, the only leap over previous generation stuff is what i outlined.

Besides the puddles, lighting across character models, karts, and the general environment looked pretty damned nice in this latest footage, I must say.

Being an in-house Nintendo title, Kart will probably opt for the same edge smoothing seen in Mario 3D World, NSMBU, etc, I expect. I had no prroblem with those titles, so I doubt MK8 will let me down. In a game like this  with less visual clutter and thin geometry, jaggies are less prominent.

DKC trilogy>Mario World, MW3>Both zelda games on wii, all the Rare games on N64>Ocarina of Time. Try harder.

The DKC trilogy had the power in the cartridge, not the system. And if you want me to bring the big guns, I'll bring the big guns.

Rogue Squadron... but let's move on, this is not gonna end.

Ok, I have a serious question that I have needed to ask for awhile: how are there games being released now that don't look as good as Rogue leader? seriously that game has aged well.

I might be missunderstanding you here, but you are aware that Zeld:TP is a much larger Game than Ocarina right?

Yeah, i thought about that one after my post. But that was a gamecube era game, when nintendo still made huge games.... mario sunshine, huge. Twighlight princess, huge. They just dont do it like that anymore.... my post still stands.

How is it that infamous 2nd son sells almost 700,000 in one week with a slightly bigger install base than wii u but none of the savior games (windwaker hd, pikmin 3, donkey kong TF, etc) sell that much In week let alone a month?
