Forums - Sales - Why a 70% dominance of PS4 (PS2 like dominance) will be impossible

Who said PS4 production rate is only 1M per month for the whole year? They may have already increased production capacity.

Anyway I don't think PS4 will sustain >50% market share life time.

PRODUCTION

Sony can easily increase production, and will more than likely do so come April. They had contracts in place for all of the PS4 components, and demand has out stripped the quantities they ordered. Now that they have seen the massive demand they should make larger contracts, and supply many more consoles.

PRICE

PS4 has a very simple design, and is packed with standard tech that will dive in price very quickly. We could see a $200 PS4 as early as 2016 depending on the markets demands. If Sony can make money, and $200 will give them 70% market share they will do it.

CONTINUED DEMAND

Unlike the Wii which started off blazing hot, and fizzled out quickly due to many factors. PS4 has the most power, most potential, and the same 1st party that brought PS3 from dead to out selling the competition in its late years.

70% is very likely.

This is pure speculation since the generation is very young. WiiU might pick up speed, it might die off. MS is already moving the baseline price for X1 and we all know how strong they are during the holidays. My guess (which probably will be wrong) is: PS4 70mn, X1 60mn and WiiU a distant third at 30mn.

With TitanFallBunduruite, Xbox One can megaevolve into TitanFallBunduruXboxOneite and gain the fighting type advantage, but it only learns Superpower. While that might be super effective, it lowers attack and defense per use and only has 5 pp, and ps4 has really high base def and hp

Very possibly.

PS4 will achieve mass market price faster then X1, it has the benefit of a likely longer life due to power and Sony always keeping PS console alive damn long. WiiU if and its a big IF it lasts on the market ill be selling 2/3 million a year. Barely factoring into over all share. X1 has proven its no competition world wide. Ps4 is already doing 6-1 sale sin Europe.

Given its sales and demand its only natural to guess Sony incensed production thus saying supply will catch up around April.

Nothing's impossible, but it's very unlikely. I don't think Microsoft would allow it.

Won't allow it? If people keep buying the other system, what exactly are they going to do about it?

Even a 50% dominance would be pretty significant if we say Xbone has 40% of the marketshare and Wii U has 10%. That's still pretty massive since it's half the entire market.

Respond hard, like Microsoft usually do.

Still, all they can do is cut the price, or money hat, and even that can only do so much.

Of no one want's it, then no one want's it, just like the first Xbox.

and that means what, when have they done so in the past.  What effect did it have to make you think they can do it now and actually do something.
