I think a 60-70% dominance of PS4 is possible.  We will see at the end of this Gen.  Let's enjoy the games now.

It will be impossible, this time around, Sony is a hair away from going into bankruptcy. That isn't the kind of company that can utterly dominate with 70%

Wow, I was kidding when I said it would in my thread, but there are a lot of people who really think it will. Were people like this with the Wii when it came out? People are going to be really disappointed a few years from now. But maybe not. It's Sony fans, they tend to be really optimistic, so maybe they'll have forgotten about these hype predictions and be happy with whatever happens. There will definitely be some threads calling out all these hype predictions down the road, and I will laugh.

Securing more games like Titanfall and a price cut could do well though, more than enough to prevent Sony getting a 70% marketshare.

oke, I agree, right now PS4 is squashing its competitors.    PS : can't wait for Uncharted 4 !!!!!   I just do care about Sony 1st party masterpieces :)

Sony during the PS2 reign, held the most market share when it came to exclusives, money to support 1st party and 3rd party games, and superior hardware.

mmm,I think it's not enough. PS4 will also have a price cut and will also have some special deals with some publishers; and this titanfall will not be a system seller, it will just help a bit XOne for a couple of weeks.  Titan is also available on PC, looking and performing better. MS have to do sooo much more than what you said if they want to avoid the end of the XBox brand.

Another thing to look at is PS4 vs XBO only. Sure we could end up with PS4 63% 120/50/20 split. But, considering that the mass majority of 3rd party games are already XBO/PS4 today, market share vs XBO may be more important than overall share. In this case 120/50 would give PS4 70% share on consoles with 3rd party games.

Even at that though I think 70% is low balling things. PS4 has no real weakness. Even PS2 had weaknesses, almost no HDD support, worse online, and worse graphics. Everything Xbox and X360 had over PS2 and PS3 Sony has either fixed or turned into an advantage with PS4.

I think PS4 could see 70% market share soon.

At this point I expect it to march higher and higher as its 80% market share on 3rd party platforms starts pushing some publishers exclusive. As the market starts to expand more and more into China and India, I expect PS4 to gain a lot of ground. Due to the very PC like architecture the system will reach prices 360/PS3 have still not reached today. Add in subsidized sales as PS+, PS Now, Cloud TV, Music/Movies Unlimited, and other services start to rake in serious profits, and PS4 should beat PS2 as the best selling console of all time.
