Donkey Konga didnt sell over 5 mil, not sure what ur talking about there? I never backpedaled, I said Donkey Kong has sold over 5 million on multiple occasions and on multiple separate consoles. DKC, DKC2 each sold over 5 million on SNES, DK64 sold over 5 million on N64, DKC Returns sold over 5 million on Wii. DKC3 is the only exception and like I said there is a legitimate reson for that, launched 1-2 years after next gen started and u only play as second tier characters.
I didnt say the Wii Series didnt sell well but u have to have more than one generation worth of sales from a series to deem it consistantly big. Its safe to say a game like Mario Kart is a big franchise, literally every single game in the series has sold over 5 million and thats on 7 different systems spanning 5 generations. On the other hand games like Wii Sports or Wii Fit had only been on one system during one generation, we didnt know how well these series would transition from one console to the next. This especially holds true for casual games where they are extremely popular for a few years or few installments then quickly fade to obscurity because that type of crowd just buys whatever is the hot new item.
Brain Training, Nintendogs, Guitar Hero, Wii Series, Kinect Series, Just Dance, multiple mobile/social games have shown this trend of being massive successes for a few years then dropping like a rock once the next big casual game releases.
