We will see. It did 3.2 million in 2013 on an awful lineup, not in terms of quality but in terms of mainstream appeal.
-Pikmin 3 - The best selling Pikmin ever did 1.6 million. It's a small beans franchise, always has been, always will be.
-Wonderful 101 - Modern Gamecube game. Games like this are why Gamers consider the Gamecube to be badass but also why it sold like crap. Just too quirky for the mainstream audience.
-Wind Waker HD - The original was the worst selling 1st release Zelda for any Nintendo console. Factor on top of that, that most remakes only do 30 percent or so of the originals at best, and it was only destined to sell 1.3 - 1.5 million lifetime.
-Wii Party U - Should have been Mario Party U. The original did big numbers because it came with a Wiimote. This one comes with a Wiimote, but everyone already has Wiimotes, it's just not a very big incentive anymore to but it.
-Game and Wario - Should have been Warioware U. Warioware on Wii actually did pretty good at 2.85 million. Releasing a crappy spinoff was destined to fail as well.
3rd Party releases - It got COD Ghosts, Splinter Cell, AC4, Just Dance, Rayman, Batman, Resident Evil, Scribblenaughts, and a bunch of kids games. Nearly all of those are games that you can buy on 360 or PS3. Why would you buy a new console for games that you can already buy on the other consoles, especially if the differences are minimal.
SM3DW - Only AAA title that appeals to a broad market that came out in 2013, but heres the catch. It wasn't a brand spanking new Mario like SMB, SMW, Mario64, Sunshine, or Galaxy. It's a great game no doubt which is why it sold nearly 2 million but it doesn't have a wow factor.
2014 has Donkey Kong which hasn't been overdone by any means and normally sells about 5 million. Mario Kart which exploded last gen on Wii and DS, but from looking at 3DS sales should realistically be about a 10 million seller. Smash Bros which saw a huge spike on Wii because people had to wait nearly 7 years to get it. It should easily be a 10 million seller even with the 3DS version out. We are talking about the best selling fighting game of all time here, not some B-level franchise. Xenoblade,Bayonetta,Hyrule Warriors should be coming out. Stack on top of that, that Nintendo no doubt will have atleast 3 - 4 Wii U games that we haven't even seen before coming out this year. Wii U could no doubt seriously see a massive spike in sales. The lineup just sucks right now. Take Pokemon, Mario Kart, Luigi's Mansion, and Animal Crossing off the 3DS, and it would only be in the 22 - 25 million range instead of the 43 million it is at now.
