Is Titanfall just another case of fanboy hype? | |||

Yes they would, though it probably wouldn't have received as much hype and support, its much easier to champion something if the enemy can't have it.
Its a new IP and is part of the most popular genre at the moment w/ a twist to it. It would have got attention with or without it being an X1 exclusive.

| Zappykins said: I think the question is: Is there more hype for TitanFall or resentment that some people aren't going to get to play it on certain systems. I say mostly the first, but a good deal of the second. So much bitterness this week - like gallons of fresh squeezed bitter dandelion juice. . But hey, it helped shoot up EA's stock price by a good amount. |
I don't get why people keep saying this. I'm sure some PS4 owners are upset they can't play Titanfall, just like I'm sure plenty of XBO owners are upset about missing out on Infamous Second Son or Uncharted. But some people generally don't care for the game. To me it just looks like another first person shooter. Does everything have to be a console war nowadays?

| Locknuts said: For me it's nothing to do with the platforms it's on and everything to do with the development team behind it. No one has managed to deliver that crack-like fast paced multiplayer experience since MW2. Respawn are basically the same people behind that game and it's my favourite online multiplayer game ever. |
I always thought Treyarch had a better handle on the franchise than IW. Black Ops was my favorite in the series, plus they added the zombies mode which is one of the most addicting survival modes ever. Call of Duty 4 was amazing but they kind of slipped up with MW2 in my opinion. The game was plagued with glitches and horribly balanced.

Is from the same losers that made Modern Warfare, that enough is reason for everyone stay away from it.
Yes, TitanFall would still be on the radar if it was multi-plat.
It pretty much stems from the fact that it is fastpaced with mechs and choas that makes it so appealing.
I just wish it was 12v12 or at least 8v8. 6v6 just sounds bland.
Ask yourself, would Destiny be getting more attention if it was skipping either Xb or PS platforms?
Probably not so much if it was skipping PS platforms since MS is Bungie's natural home, but people would still be talking about it more than they are now. But if Destiny was skipping the Xb platforms people would be giving so much of a shit about Destiny that the semi-exclusivity of Titanfall wouldn't amount to an iffy smell, let alone people actually giving a shit about what platforms it's on, even with Destiny not having a launch date yet and TF soon to launch.
The stir that's created by TF not being on PS on platforms is the sort of free advertising that you just can't buy.

It takes more than exclusivity for a game achieve the top spot on pre-order charts.

You always get more pumped up when a game is exclusive, but in this case it is very different in two ways:
- It seems the collective press has fallen for it aswell.
- I have never seen so Many Sony fans weighing in on the game, where alot of them spend sooooooo much time trying to downplay it, saying it is overhyped and such.
This tells me that this game has made a BIG, and positive, impression on almost everyone that has seen it.
