It would have a similar level of hype as Mad Max or Thief or something else that's multiplat but not huge. It still looks good, but certainly not super special as some are claiming. Destiny looks like the most interesting FPS for now. I'm glad neither of them looks like COD. I'm tired of people saying Titanfall does. Sure it looks like COD...with mechs, wall running, and jetpacks so not actually at all. Just like Destiny looks like COD...with space travel, speeder bikes, super powers, and sci-fi weaponry so not really at all.
firstly, its not exclusive to XB1.
secondly there would still be people interested in it, but if it were on PS4, MS wouldnt spend as much marketing it.
It's because of the guys behind this game and because of what they saw and read about it. That's a little bit different to "otherwise it would have as much hype as Thief", like someone here said lol.
Just look at which games at Kickstarter get the biggest fundings. It's the games of people who have a big name because people expect to get from them what they expect. That's exactly the reason why people who liked especially MW are so excited for Titanfall, it's like a possible evolution of what they loved.

Yes cause PS4 Fans don't have the possibility to own PCs (capable of running this game with that outdated engine (for example) easily in 4k.)
And guess what?I have that and i still don't care for Titanfall.I could play a version 100 times better than the "Exclusive" XB1 Version but i still I don't like CoD and i won't get interested in that either.
People would probably still be hyped about it just cause it is the long-lost twin brother of CoD.
If it would play like Battlefield(big maps, many players, teamwork, long games) or Killzone( no auto aim and other assists aka ProGame) people wouldn't care - Those are to hard to learn and not easy to pick up.Not mainstream enough.
Make Titanfall a pure skillbased Arena Shooter promoted by Fatal1ty and other ProGamers of old days only available on XB1 while playable with Mouse+Keyboard i would instantly care and buy that console cause this is REALLY something like the 2nd coming cause we didn't have something like that in years.
It's not exclusive, but being a console exclusive does the same. Microsoft is heavily promoting it, so it's no different than if this was a Microsoft owned franchise.
I'd like to point out the original Mass Effect. If it wasn't console exclusive I'm sure it would have been praised a bit still, but not on the levels that it was. Exclusivity gave this series a ridiculous boost despite the original being such a mediocre game.
Before anyone goes, oh but Mass Effect is amazing. Go play any third person shooter released during that period of time, now go play Mass Effect. Just the shooting. It's got the most piece of shit third person shooting mechanics I've played in a game released this gen. Now the dialogue is good, like all Bioware games, but when you actually have to play through segments of gameplay, the game is garbage. Now there are also your skills and such that you can use, but if you want to use skills efficiently, then you the player need to do so. Your allies are retarded and will run out there and get killed in less than half a second.
So anyways, back to the shooting which is the main segment of the game. Since it uses an RPG like system, aiming as well, you'll have a large circle outside of your targeting reticle. That large circle is where the bullets can land, so you can continue tapping the fire button to keep the circle smaller which is the best way to do it, and still 90% of your bullets will miss. The two best weapons to use are either the sniper or the shotgun because they can actually hit something, but with the shotgun you have to be two centimeters away because it has no range, and the sniper rifle there are a lot of places you can't use it because it's tailored for long range only.
There's a cover system in this game is also the worst cover system in any FPS I've played.
Mass Effect 1. 91% score on Metacritic. I know people will say it's your opinion, and it is, but maybe you could get off your knees and stop glossing your lips for Bioware just one second and compare its shooting, you know, half of the game, to any other third person shooter. And that damn planet vehicle. Such a piece of shit and that's a common element of gameplay as well.

What are you talking about? Ryse got massive praise for its graphics, but the press was highly critical towards the gameplay. Alot of XBox fans where positive towards it, but hesitant in regards to.... the gameplay :). So in what way does these to caes compare?
| bigjon said: Basically when a game is exclusive to a console the fanboys for the console worship said game and raze it up high. For instance, Forza for XB1 tons of fanboys hyping it when NFS turned out to be just as good or better. Sony? Remember Haze? LOL Sony fanboys hyped that to hell, that is until the 1st reviews panned it. Killzone? If it were not exclusive would there be some many people trying to convince us how good it was gonna be? I mean there are really people who will try to convince you Knack and Ryse are actually good games. Nintendo fanboys.... they even tried to tell us WiiMusic was gonna be awsome. The best games available for the 8th gen consoles are multiplats. BF4, AC4, COD, NFL, NBA 2K are all better games than any of the exclusive regardless of how much fanboys try to convice you they may suck (COD particulary is hated by fanboys because they are angered their exclusive games cant touch it in sales) Now, back to my main point. Is Titanfall another case of a game that has fanboys in a tizzy or is there actually some geniune interest? |
Super Mario 3D World. Stop digging.

Everything in your post is true. People were very high on Ryse until more and more of the gameplay was shown. Fans on both sides of the fence were making countless threads about the game. It wasn't a game that made a BIG, and positive impression on most people even though it seemed to have been in the spotlight for a while. Titanfall is still two months away from release and very few people have had the chance to play it. The fact that so many people are talking about it when so few have actually played the game makes me think it might be overhyped. It might turn out to be critically acclaimed, but I'm going to have to see more before I can say the hype is warranted.
