It's not exclusive, but being a console exclusive does the same. Microsoft is heavily promoting it, so it's no different than if this was a Microsoft owned franchise.
I'd like to point out the original Mass Effect. If it wasn't console exclusive I'm sure it would have been praised a bit still, but not on the levels that it was. Exclusivity gave this series a ridiculous boost despite the original being such a mediocre game.
Before anyone goes, oh but Mass Effect is amazing. Go play any third person shooter released during that period of time, now go play Mass Effect. Just the shooting. It's got the most piece of shit third person shooting mechanics I've played in a game released this gen. Now the dialogue is good, like all Bioware games, but when you actually have to play through segments of gameplay, the game is garbage. Now there are also your skills and such that you can use, but if you want to use skills efficiently, then you the player need to do so. Your allies are retarded and will run out there and get killed in less than half a second.
So anyways, back to the shooting which is the main segment of the game. Since it uses an RPG like system, aiming as well, you'll have a large circle outside of your targeting reticle. That large circle is where the bullets can land, so you can continue tapping the fire button to keep the circle smaller which is the best way to do it, and still 90% of your bullets will miss. The two best weapons to use are either the sniper or the shotgun because they can actually hit something, but with the shotgun you have to be two centimeters away because it has no range, and the sniper rifle there are a lot of places you can't use it because it's tailored for long range only.
There's a cover system in this game is also the worst cover system in any FPS I've played.
Mass Effect 1. 91% score on Metacritic. I know people will say it's your opinion, and it is, but maybe you could get off your knees and stop glossing your lips for Bioware just one second and compare its shooting, you know, half of the game, to any other third person shooter. And that damn planet vehicle. Such a piece of shit and that's a common element of gameplay as well.
