So little was written in the OP, but it is clear some form of your self worth is invested in PS4's lifetime sales.
Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
I'd like to know why people act like a 100k difference is such a big deal.. Please someone explain it to me.. I just don't get it..

If you're honestly being serious with that, i don't think it's worth responding. That's like saying, yea you got an 8/10 on this test but when you realllllly think about it 6 of them were really easy questions so you really got a 2 out of 4 therefore you failed the test. You're trying way too hard to discredit vgchartz because you personally don't like it, there's tons of other numbers you can use if you want to do that, and you don't have to spin those numbers too.

terrible fucking analogy and not even remotely similar. Your telling me if VGC tracked the Wii at 5m sales last year and it only sold 3m that would be fine because they are only 2% off? lol lol lol
Why should VGC adjusts, while the console is mostly sold out, it isn't completely sold out. Stock is available in some countries. Shipped will never totally equal sold until a console has been dead and gone for years.

He's talking about the Oct-Dec 2006 quarter. Microsoft overshipped in order to hit 10 million. There was a large shipped/sold gap at the end of the year. It resulted in the Jan-Mar and Apr-Jun quarters being the lowest shipping by far for the 360. It is most evident in that Jan-Mar quarter. The next worse of the eight Jan-Mar quarters that the 360 has seen was 160% higher.
As for your last paragraph, how exactly were they misleading investors by publishing shipped numbers in their financial reports? All three console manufacturers put shipped numbers in those reports. They didn't start lumping together PS3/PS2 and PSP/PSV shimpent numbers until the first quarter of the 2012 Fiscal Year. Pretty sure that was to make the dismal Vita numbers look better, not the PS3 (which was the top shipping home console the previous quarter)

An additional 2 million onto the Wii LTD would be 2%. His point is that the error for the PS4 wasn't about LTD, but rather a specific time period. That time period was between Dec 1st when Sony announced 2.1m and the 28th when they announced 4.2m. So just like the Wii error would have been greater looking at 2013 vs LTD, the PS4 error is greater when looking at December vs LTD.
