Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Left Online Out Of Super Mario 3D World To Deliver The "NES" Experience - O_0

BS because you can have both local multiplayer + online multiplayer.

Party like its 1985! ...again.

I think the lack of useful online infrastructure is starting to rear its ugly head... either that or the execs at Nintendo truly live in a bubble.

Nintendo being out of touch with the consumer, which has been oh so common over the last few years. I can go grab Halo 3 and play some local co-op with friends. I can then kick them out of my house and play some online co-op.

Yes. Its possible to have both online and local co-op in your videogame.

Poor/lazy game design. While SM3DW itself may be brilliant, excuses like this are beyond stupid. The higher ups at Nintendo are stuck in the past. I think its time to look to the future.

Giving choices is never bad, Nintendo.

It's pretty obvious Nintendo doesn't put online in their platformers because of the great importance of 60fps. Timing and momentum can be heavily interrupted when playing online. Even Ubisoft didn't do it with Rayman Legends. Nintendo isn't going to force something because we want it. It has to work too. If you enjoy forced online options, there's always Sony/Microsoft and many other third party developers.

Question: Do any of you think that 3D World would sell better with online multiplayer?

I say no, it wouldn't make any difference. It's not the type of game that people log in to play competitively. Mario Kart is, Smash is, not a Mario action game.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

But this logic fails because no one would be forcing you to play online, it'd simply be an option. Also I don't see how the framerate would worsen due to online play outside of lag, but then again I'm not a techy. It's definitely true though that lag could be a nuisance, but that hasn't stopped the many many other games with online from having it.

I'm guessing this happened because they rushed the game out the door in order to have something for the holidays. Or they're really just that dense.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

They are trying to offer the NES experience since forever.
