I didn't know xbox live was an app, I thought it was a paywall to access apps.

But yeah the xbox live app doesn't work with my router. I knocks out cell tower transmission in my area and since I live near a runway I get the FAA at my doorstep complaining about interfering with air traffic communications.

No. OS didn't save Microsoft from the PS3. It was the Kinect that did that but the fad died after two years so Sonys advances couldn't be stopped.

I think he's talking about the US. The 360 is the number one last gen console there by a mile.

I disagree. In the ps3/x360 gen, the perception was that xbox live was better than psn and this no doubt pushed a lot of people to the xbox. However, the ps3 had the advantage of free MP and a lot of people would have bought the ps3 over xbox because of the lesser cost.

This 8th gen, the online services are pretty much close to parity. The ps4 online is very similar to xbox live (with the exception of the 300000 servers MS has - which we still have yet to see the benefit of) and there has been no buzz or comment at all so far about the online experience. This suggests that there is no large issue or disparity in the online systems so I dont think the X1 has any sort of advantage here at all - any advantage at all would likely be overshadowed by the higher price. Simply put, I highly doubt MP services will be a factor this gen.
