Forums - Gaming - Update: GT6(81)>Forza 5(80) GT definite racing game according to metacritic

I know this is a response thread to that other thread, but I guess the GT fans didn't spend much time reading the title, it was about 7th gen racers. I might be mistaken but its hard for GT6 to disprove that thread with only an 81 score. I doubt 81 is the high mark for the 7th gen racers. Someone help me out here, is 81 the high for gen 7?

Its not loosing any sales its attachment ratio is miles better then GT6 which is loosing a lot of sales.

Because an exclusive launch title on a system that hasn't even been out a month isn't going to have a high attach rate, right?

Knack must be better than all the Gears of War games because it currently has a higher attach rate.

The reason I brought up attachment ratio is to proof that Forza is not loosing any sales.  Forza 5 the lowest rated game in the frachise but it still has a very high attchment ratio.  And if you look at attchment ratio its currently doing better then any previous Forza game.

Attachment ratio has nothing to do with sales. Just because we don't have a large number of Xbox Ones on the market doesn't mean that Forza is doing well. Sales of Forza 5 are lower than they were for Forza 3 and 4 over the same period of time. Forza lost sales going from 3 to 4 and will lose sales again going from 4 to 5.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Using launch console attach rate proves nothing at all, F5 attach rate will drop like a rock in th efollowing moths. So the attach rates are pointless.

I can tell you as a F5 owner, it sales will not last long.  Ill get nowhere the type of long term sales GT enjoys.

It still will be the best selling racing game for the X1 for a long time until Horizon 2 or Forza 6 comes out.  GT6 on the other hand will not even come close to GT5 in sales.

I'm not interested in either of them (only play arcade racers/kart games) but the amount of Day one DLC and microtransations in Forza 5 is absolutely sickening, and I'm glad it's getting hammered in user reviews for it in both Metacritic and Amazon. It's like a $60 FTP game.

I'm using metacritic and my own personal experience the three games I metioned are miles better and in the case of Burnout and Horzion more fun then both GT5 and GT6.  Forza 4 is highest rated sim racer.  Burnout Paradise is the highest rated open world arcade racer and Horzion is the highest rated spin off racer.  Also Wipeout shouldn't be in the equation its not a real racing game since it doen't feature cars the only game you can compare it to is the F-Zero games and the highest rated game in that genre is F-Zero GX on the Gamecube which is a 89/100 on metascore.

You logic is flawed. Because reviewers score the games differently, it depends of the games currently released and played.

GT6 is a better game on all accounts than GT5 but scored lower. If you want to follow completely you logic, then I will tell you that GT3 is better than Forza 4 because it scored 95/100 at metacritic. Is GT3 better than Forza 4? Well I don't think so.

That's why we can only compare currently released games (in the same year or so) between them. So GT6 vs Forza 5. To make an opinion about a game it is also always interesting to compare user scores which in the case of Forza 5 are atrocious.

You can't compare the sales of the previous Forza games to Forza 5, because Forza 5 is the first game in the franchise that is a launch title all the other games launched when there was already a decent size instal base.  And of course sales of Forza 5 are lower to 3 and 4 when both of those games launched the 360 already had a solid instal base compared to zero with Forza 5.

Having a high attachment ration doesn't tell you that the game is selling good are you serious or are you blind.

When the hell did i say its not selliing good.  So wtf are you talking about.

Its a launch title and all the others are utter crap, its sales will mean nothing when looking at future sales.  Just like Resistance sales and high attach rate ment nothing to its future franchise sales.

Its a really is a basic concept to grasp.

At launch your choices are limited, even mediocrity sales good.

That's quite the title. The best selling game of a specific genre for a brand new console until a newer one comes out. Woohoo? What is Forza's competition on the X1 may I ask?

Of course GT6 will less LOTS less than GT5. No one is debating that. The simple fact is that Forza 5 will sell less than Forza 4 just like Forza 4 sold less than Forza 3. You can spin it, twist it, turn it, stir it, shake it, bend it, or flex it anyway you'd like. But the truth is the truth.

Reading through all the replies in this thread is so silly. If everyone listened to their own logic, they would realize that nearly everything they are saying applies to both their favorite games as well as the competition.

By unanoumous decision everyone should be agreeing that both the ps4 and xbone have terrible lauch titles that scored worse than their predecessors, or just sucked in general, and there is no reason to own either console. But low metacritic only matters for the competition's games...

By unanmousous decision we should all agree that Forza, and Gran Turismo now suck since they are reviewing much worse than their last generation predecessors. But of course no one uses their own negative logic for their own games, or their own positive logic for the games they are trying to bash.

I can't believe it. With all that cloud computing talk, 600% more this and that, next gen hype hype hype and it couldn't even outscore a last gen title on outdated hardware. Plus the loopholes and excuses never seem to end. Oh FZ still is the best last gen or Forza 5 is incomplete. Is it GT's fault that Turn 10 made an incomplete product? Nope, that's on Turn 10. They dropped the ball and the reviews show it. Now Forza is losing in sales and reviews. Microsoft better start that annual bundling process again or it's going to be a very bumpy ride for Forza this gen.

Its not loosing any sales its attachment ratio is miles better then GT6 which is loosing a lot of sales.

Attachment ratio on a launch of a new console is just a spin or excuse that is used when the game sells like shit cakes.
