    Hi!

    I'd definitely recommend anything by Frictional Games http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frictional_Games Their Penumbra series has a good "The Thing" vibe where you are alone exploring a base in the Arctic where something has gone wrong
    The Darkness Within series (2 games) is good if you like Lovecraftian horror.
    If you are more into Fatal Frame (Project Zero) games with ghosts and cameras and things I think that Dreadout looks good. It has not released yet (I think end of year) but you can download the Demo of their game now from their website http://dreadout.com/
    Hope that starts you off
