Forums - Gaming - Update: GT6(81)>Forza 5(80) GT definite racing game according to metacritic

Both have exactly 62 reviews so thought I should update you guys which game scored better since the other guy got himself banned and cant update his thread. Certainly not the outcome I expected, months ago I thought Forza would be the highest scoring next gen game, but soon it was found out the game was plagued by terrible microtransactions, yet it wasnt brought up by most reviews but caused quite a commotion with fans. GT6 has some form of microtransactions too, but nothing is missing from the game, you can get everything by doing grind work which was always part of the GT economy. Polyphony just offers people with money a shortcut to get the best cars faster. But... You can still quickly gain credits through glitches like GT5... 50 million glitch  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMp2UxAQ0Pk GT also has more cars and tracks so its surprising that the scores are close. Its a much better game than GT5, the menus are better and load times are shorter.

Well obviously it's not much better than GT5 if we're going by metacritic.

So was forza the definitive racer for the last generation? Or now does metacritic matter all the sudden when GT can beat an an unfinished forza by one point?

Really why are these threads still popping up? Who cares, play the game you like and stop the penis wars.  Nobody would care if these games were multiplat.*Looks at Need for Speed*

I love Forza Horizon like a man loves a woman. Was this the right place to make this statement? Maybe. Maybe not. Forza "Herizon" and I, our love doesn't play by the rules.

Enjoy your sim talk, boys.

Forza 5 looks like a definite winner if we go by attachment rate.

hhhmmm...This thread has taught me something about myself.

Even when were talking about my favorite game (GT) I still do not give two shits about Metacritic.

Play the game you love, who cares about what the reviews say. Most reviews of sim racers are garbage anyways.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

It's interesting, reading those GT reviews. It truly shows insight into how the review process has changed over the course of the generation. Article after article calls it the best Gran Turismo, the best racing sim of the generation, or even the best racing sim on consoles, period, yet they go on to give it an 8/10, usually because it does nothing totally new.

Several reviews also compare it to the new Forza, which is also interesting. Is that fair or not? I don't know, to be honest. It seems like a comparison where they both suffer. GT has run up against the limitations of the PS3 while Forza sacrificed content in order to be a launch title.

Personally, I can't wait to see what GT7 brings to the table. I'm guessing that they're going to take their time with this one and it's going to be at least 3 or 4 years down the road. The next Forza should be interesting, too, assuming that it won't be a rush-job.
