OG Xbox had a x86 Pentium and 360 had a PowerPC, yet it was still backwards compatible(kinda). Altough you're right since situations are different this time, Cell has more FLOPS performance than the AMD Jaguar inside PS4, I'm not sure how they would be able to emulate PS3 there, and, since including the Cell would make PS4 very expensive, it's easy to see how and why PS4 has no backwards compatibility.

No. I suggest you gather enough money to buy a Wii U or just don't trade for a Wii U and keep your PS3. There is more exclusive games to comes for the PS3 ( drakengard 3,deception iv,persona 5,ff x/x-2 hd remaster and many more ) when compared to the Wii U. However if you are that desperate go ahead,but don't say i told you so.

Anyway, he is right. Emulation is an impossibility, and will probably remain an impossiblity for at least another decade. Backwards compatibility through hardware would either require PS3 components in the PS4 or for the PS4 to use the same architecture as the PS3. Both would be pretty disastrous.

@TheBlackNaruto : Yes i played the whole uncharted games, ratchet and clank games,little big planet games,killzone games,infamous games,the last of us and last but not least the entire god of war series except for gow:A which i never got to buy. Not sure if it's worth to waive on a Wii U though.

And as a side note: i also own a 3ds because i am in love with pokemon since i'm 5, is that something i can benefit from with getting a wii u?

What model PS3 do you have? Also how much will the Wii U cost you?

PS3 has a lot of good years left in it. But I get what you're saying if It was up to me I'd keep the PS3 and buy a Wii U, unless space is an issue there isn't much of a need to sell your PS3.

Too many good games on the PS3 and not enough backwards compatibility in the PS4....

PS3 is getting a lot of good exclusives and multiconsole titles next year. If there are games you haven't played then get those as well.

One question I'd like to specifically ask. Do you like to replay your games or not? If you like to replay your games, then there's no reason to sell your PS3. Keep the console, keep your games, save up to get a Wii U in the future.

It's almost a minimum of $10 to eat out now days, even at a fast food restaurant, it's getting a bit ridiculous. So make food at home each time you want to go out and eat and mark it down. After 30 times eating at home instead of going out, gas money and everything, reward yourself by buying a Wii U.
