I am not sure but I THINK he may be talking about how the machines are built...like because the PS4 does not have the cell like the PS3 did and that is a hge factor. Not the most tech savy person so I am not 100% positive.


OG Xbox had a x86 Pentium and 360 had a PowerPC, yet it was still backwards compatible(kinda). Altough you're right since situations are different this time, Cell has more FLOPS performance than the AMD Jaguar inside PS4, I'm not sure how they would be able to emulate PS3 there, and, since including the Cell would make PS4 very expensive, it's easy to see how and why PS4 has no backwards compatibility.
