Pretty much every PC port in existence is crippled by being a console port. 

It's already got better textures,tesselation, tressfx already. And is among the better PC ports. It's a 13.2 gb file size vs a 7.3 gb of consoles.

It's entirely possible it's a port of the PC version. Even if there are extra upgrades, while it would be nice of them, they're under no obligation to provide it free of charge or at all, because everyone purchased it knowing what was provided. Which was a substantially better looking game than it's console counterparts at the time.

I don't think anyone hates Nintendo more than Nintendo's own hardcore fanbase.

To address one of the main critcisms of Nintendo's showing: Donkey Kong is entirely different from other games being shown at VGX, and that's a damn good thing.

terrible, uninspired display by Nintendo, but on the otherhand, they were merely part of a much larger show that was even more terrible and uninspired, so you can't fault them too much. Why do you think Cranky Kong is what is being most talked about? Because that was ACTUALLY the most interesting thing they showed on this poor excuse for a video game award show, and THAT is extremely sad for the industry.

Even Joel McCale just seemed completely uninterested and making fun of everything there every time he got the chance.

The real question shouldn't be what was Nintendo thinking, but rather, what the hell was Spike TV/games industry thinking, by airing this garbage? I tried to watch it twice and litterally had to shut it off both times, because of the stupidity and boring shit throughout.

VGX was really boring. There were no real surprises nor anything unexpected, so I'd say DK was neutral. Considering there were lots of boring games there, a little info about DK wasn't that bad as people say. We even got some hints about the development of the new Metroid game.
