Sony and Nintendo really would be a perfect fit as partners, lol. They're both really good in areas the other is weak in (consoles/handhelds/software styles/etc.).

I'm actually surprised it outsold the DS. It's the second best selling handheld this Black Friday, I think it done well
So it is happening...PS4 preorder.
Greatness Awaits!

Says the guy with a WW HD artwork :D
Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:
PS4: 17m XB1: 10m WiiU: 10m Vita: 10m
What's SCEA supposed to?
The Sony audience doesn't give a sh*t about handhelds. They are teenage/college age males who game at home on the big screen and want a PS4 or XBox, not a Sony Game Boy.
PSP falling off the map in North America for years prior was already a tip off. Everyone has smartphones here now too so if you ever get an urge to game for 10 minutes on the road, smart phone scratch that itch. The big gun games are for consoles.
Besides I think there still is a huge stigma about playing handhelds in public. No one says anything about smartphone games because smartphones are more of a social media device. No one wants to be the weird guy on the bus "playing video games in the corner". Is it a double standard with smartphones? Sure. But it still definitely is there.
The message is that 1) it's their last handheld, 2) PS4 is selling at record levels, so they don't care, and 3) they don't care anymore. The Vita is effectively dead outside of Japan.
Vita won't pick up unless it gets some subtle celebrity endorsements. Maybe Kevin Spacey?
Oh.

I'm sorry, but this is original Wind Waker artwork, as shown by the lack of HD behind "Wind Waker" in the picture. And since Sony themselves don't bother to market the Vita as anything but a PS4 controller I actually was serious.
EDIT: Also, I agree. WiiU does sell terrible

i've never encountered this double standard, in fact i've experienced quite the opposite. the problem with the vita is the lack of game advertisements, look at the sales of Killzone and Tearaway: two of the better games in the vita library, and they were given absolutely no marketing in NA, they were simply pushed out the door to fend for themselves.
Me gusta queso
