Forums - Nintendo - Why are there no FPS's on the 3DS?

FPS w/o two analogs are awful (for the most part). I doubt many people will buy that add on, and since Nintendo doesn't make FPS games it will have to be up to third parties, and I don't see that manifesting. What were the sales like for the DS "FPS" games?

the touch controls in MP: Hunters were actually pretty good.

only a few and none that did great numbers.  there are like 3 peope that like metroid hunters.  everyone else, like myself, agree the controls where horrible.  that game completely destroyed the prospect of me ever buying a FPS on the DS again.  ..nor would i on 3DS either.  it was such a horrificly terrible experience.

to each their own.

i actually loved Hunters for a lot of things, especially that online.

Nintendo could make applying grout to floor tiles look fun - they're that good when it comes to working with what they got (even when they're not directly involved). Third parties ... not so much. It's my faith in them to make a good FPS that is shaken.

Not so good, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 broke the 1 million mark though.

I suspected as much. That would be a factor in all of this - plus third party games generally not selling well anyway.

I'd like to add that playing a FPS in 3D would be great, and as for many not having the Circle Pad Pro, I disagree.

Every one of my friends with a 3DS already has a circle pad pro from either Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, and Kingdom Hearts. Plus people can pick one up if they want the FPS or they could be bundled by a retailer.

Controlling is not the issue here, there is no issue, in fact the only issue is lack of 3DS FPS's.

how do you think people played doom on the Snes? surely they just all sat around waiting for the dream cast to launch before releasing the first console FPS ever?

A lot has changed since then though. We have evolved considerably (tastes, games, tech, etc). Though I do agree. I still have a lot of fun with Goldeneye on N64 and it's great with a single stick, but generally most gamers are not like that.
