Forums - Sales - Splinter Cell: Blacklist sales on Wii U account for less than 2% of total sales

lol total sales what a fucking joke.

How about (Number of Units Sold On Wii U / Wii U's sold)

Do that for each console and lets see the attach rate.

Then think how many active units there are in the PS360 userbase, how many units are replacements, 2nd in the house, for multimedia purposes only, how many more releases are there recently for PS360 so customers have more options with a limited budget, how vastly bigger are the libraries that people can choose games from. There are always so many variables to consider that it's never a fair comparison unless you have all the data, attach rates can also be unfair to compare.

There are othe factors that I didn't even consider like the WIi U version is gimped compared to the others.

The fact is the game bombed everywhere.

3.6/(78.4 + 79.1 +3.6) * 100 = (I don't have a calculator handy but that looks like about 2%)

that's not how it works when you compare consoles with a small userbase to those with a big userbase. otherwise a game like pikmin 3 would have sold already like 10 million units worldwide in only one month if wii u would be in the eigths years with a userbase of 80 million...

I know the equation is not that simple but a little context in the OP would be great, some significant concession must be given for the fact the WiiU has 1/20 the install base of the other two consoles, not to mention it's going up against Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101 and Rayman Legends which all released within weeks of this game.

Furthermore this game is missing features on the WiiU, is not being advertised, has virtually no reviews on Metacritic because advance copies were not made available and has/had very negative feedback regarding the buggy online play (haven't played since the patch  became available).

If we are going to deal in black and white, then yes, the game should have sold more but this is a little more complicated than "third parties don't sell on Nintendo."

And people wonder why it rarely recieves third party games

Rayman Legends sold most on Wii U despite its 200/300% smaller user base. What now?

I dunno, probably has something to do with the fact that it was originally a exclusive that went multiplat just before it released? Think about it.

What about games like Sonic & Sega Transformed and Rayman Legends? If studios make multiplatform games on Wii U that perform well, take advantage of the GamePad, and speak to the Wii U audience, then they'll do well in comparison to the PS3, X360, PS4, XOne versions.

Need For Speed Most Wanted U.  Better textures than all other console versions and more features.  Undeniably the best version.  It didn't come out at the same time as the other versions, or, it's an EA game, let's ignore it.  When some of you only own Nintendo consoles, the "it came out on other consoles first" excuse really dyoesn't work.  Even if you dislike EA for no reason at all, which most people do, you're hypocritical for not practicing what you preach, "supporting developers who put forth the effort to make a good port on the Wii U.".  Isn't that the common phrase I hear coming from Nintendo fans?

It doesnt matter WHY it sold so poorly, all that matters is that it DID sell so poorly.

Ubisoft have faith in the platform, but that faith has to run thin when the efforts do as bad as that. Assassin's Creed and Watch_Dogs still to come. Lets see if they fair any better.

the game became multiplatform six months before release, so it's not like the ps360 userbase were surprised when the game released in september.

This support a developer stuff is hilarious. They aren't a kid who needs a scholarship or a homeless family. Not to mention it's the publishers who see all of that profit anyway

It's the market's job to ensure developers are in demand, not the consumer.

Rayman Legends being announced as an exclusive made sales, it doesn't matter if it was delayed a year. Spin it anyway you want, but Nintendo fans knew the game was developed with the Wii U in mind since the developers already stated it was complete, so they purchased it as a multiconsole title under bias.

The same reason why games that don't come to Nintendo consoles are garbage, but as soon as it's a Nintendo exclusive it's the best game in the world. It's like Nintendo fans never cared about the games, thtey just care about looking like they have the best games.

I don't mind sharing my favorite games with other consoles. A good game is a good game no matter how many consoles it comes out. Believe it or not, being a multiconsole title doesn't make a game worse. Being an exclusive doesn't make it better. But keep thinking that way and even Ubisoft will stop porting games to the Wii U.

And you don't have to support the games that come to your console, just don't bitch about your console not getting any multiconsole titles when the developer or publisher lambasts your fanbase and denies support because of poor sales.
