I'm not sure I follow. Are you implying that Ubisoft should stop making games because Splinter Cell underperforms?

Let me explain like this: you are using low wii u sales for SC to say the crew and the division shouldn't be on wii u. but even on ps360 80M base each, it had a fw of 370k and 250k respectively. how much do you thing it would sell on ps4/xone with installed bases more than 20x smaller? pretty close to wii u's 20k numbers I suppose. By that logic, shouldn't you think the crew and the division should skip ps4/xone too?

You're forgetting a very important element that is the audience. All I was saying is that Ubi shouldn't be porting games where the audience isn't. 2% of declining sales is so low that Splinter Cell on WiiU must be barely profitable (if it does profit). So porting The Division or The Crew, which would have to be rethought for a (far) less powerful system is potentially a direct waste of money and resources.

As for PS4 and X1, the audience of early adopters typically fits a for game like the Division, so they can expect a large pourcentage of the install base to be interested, however small it is. Go to the preorders page and you'll see that games like BF4 and Watchdogs are more preordered on PS4 than on PS3.

"2% of declining sales is so low that Splinter Cell on WiiU must be barely profitable"  As I already explained, a ps4/xone version would be in the same sales level.

calling wii u a far less powerfull system will do you no good here.

the audience is there, I don't understand this obsession to consider nintendo system's owners as a whole different entity of other consoles owners.

here in brazil, there was a tv advertisment of this game, and at the end they said "avaliable in xbox 360 and playstation 3"
they said nothing about wii u or pc version...

79m(PS3s)+78(XB360)+4(Wii U rounded up)= 161*.02(%)= 3.22......round up to 4 and it seems that Wii U makes up %2 of all consoles that released the game. Add in PC sales it makes WII U's sales numbers even better. To make this clear Wii U sales preformed in line with PS3 and XBOX360 sales(and actually better than both if this number includes PC sales). The game bombed either way.

While Splinter Cell certainly underperformed across the board, people are being ridiculous with these attach rate comparisons.  A new console having a similar or worse attach rate to 7+ year old ones is not good.  Even more so when that results in less than 4800 units in its first month in the US.

If you actually think this, you must have been going crazy over 360 software sales in 05 and 06.  After all it had a Splinter Cell game that sold 224k in its first week in the US.  An attach rate of 8.3%.  Madden sold more in one week than any third party software on the Wii U so far.  Oblivion had a 20.2% attach rate in the US first week.  The list goes on.

Why exactly do you think PS4/XBO sales would be close to 20k?  (besides the fact that the Wii U version isn't even at 20k yet, and it is substantially overtracked in the US.)

Zero proof of this, actually the sales for all third party 'core' games suggests the opposite, PS4 and Xbox One? It's naturally going to be made up of people who want games like the Division.

We don't know what games WiiU can handle and what it can't, the Division looks pretty good in this regards. You can't pretend WIiU is capable of everything X1 and PS4 is.

It'll also have massive legs those kinds of games sell systems for MS and Sony.

Not sure where you are going with this comparing sales of series that are gigantic like Madden. Even Oblivion was a pretty big deal (HYPE!)and XBox owners already had a taste with the popular Morrowind. Splinter Cell is no longer a big series as it was during the XB/PS2/GC gen. The first X360 splinter cell sold as it did because it was a follow up to a major series of the previous gen. The Wii U is in a different postion than say a X1 or PS4 where its closest competition is a very expensive new machine. Id wager to say the majority of U owners have an XBOX or PS3 at their disposal and would likely buy on the superior versions on those consoles. Im a pretty big game person, but I wouldnt know this game was coming out at all if it wasnt for the multiple threads saying the Wii U version would not include split screen. More than anything those Wii U owners are probably playing GTA or Madden or anything else other than a game from a series that will likely be put to rest. If you really want to attack Wii U game sales, wait for when Bayonetta 2 bombs but this is not a good example.

Edit: Theres no way the Division should be on Wii U. That is the only game of anything shown next gen that has caught my attention.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

We get it...the Wii U is dead

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Splinter Cell has come and gone. There no interest anymore. To blame it simply on the small user base of the Wii U is understating the problem.

And people wonder why it rarely recieves third party games

Rayman Legends sold most on Wii U despite its 200/300% smaller user base. What now?

That doesn't count, for some unexpect arbitrary reason that we cannot logically explain.

OT: Nothing surprising. Watch Dogs and COD are the next.
