Forums - Sony - PS Vita TV is just excellent

Looks so cute! Pretty much a cheap home console at $99 only!

lol have fun with that. Watching Netflix on a decent tablet or even a smartphone with bigger screen beats Vita anytime imo.

EXPOSED! lol

The PS5 Exists.

Price-wise its about what I would be willing to play for something like Vita, definately interested.

Still not getting one though until Vita has got tons more games.

Wait so it's a pretty much a Vita except it's $99? or am I reading the OP wrong? If so I'll buy one of these real quick.

Yeah, except it upscales everything to a max of 720p.  Also like has been stated, games that use touch screen as a gameplay mechanic, or used to choose game modes, currently isn't included in the list of compatible games.

Oh . Yeah I just read on IGN it's supposed to be plugged into your TV so my excitement died a little after I read that. I'll just buy the redesign Vita instead.

While the redesign looks nice and includes 1GB of flash memory as well, the screen is LCD.  While there are LCD screens that have picture quality as good as some LEDs, I'd say if you wanted the better picture quality you might be more interested in getting the original OLED model.

LED and LCD screens are both, LCD screens. OLED is the only one that's actually LED pixels.

Sony gave a list of games (check my post above) and arguably the best games and the system sellers for the Vita aren't there. But like I said, we have to wait and see.

The best games might not be showing up for various reasons, Assassin's creed vita is about to get a HD re-release for the PS360, Ubisoft probably wanted this game off the list to not stunt sales of the upcoming game.  Uncharted and Gravity Rush most likely utilize the touch pad that wont be available until the PS4 is released

Don't fool yourself. The games missing use touch-controls and/or camera in at least some parts of the game. Sony probably doesn't list them, because it would be very frustrating for gamers to get the game and then be unable to finish it because they can't get past some parts.

Its about on par with Ouya which also plays PS1 and PSP games and many other emulators, streams music and video but has access to android games and apps.

PS4 streaming is the only differentiator I see which is neat but can be easily accomplished with an Miracast/WiDi adapter. But for someone that lives and wants to keep everything in a Sony world, this is a neat device.

Agreed. It's like they just decided to take a bunch of already available features and smash them together in a device that will just confuse consumers and be largely missed.

The Graphics are going to look horrible id rather play them on my vita. That being said the price is very cheap so there wouldnt be much harm in buying one.

I don´t get it. But I do have a PS3, a PSP and a PSVITA, so, go figure...

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

This should allow Vita connectivity (or PS4 Controller connectivity) for all games from Vita to work.

I was hoping for a way to play my Vita through my PS4/PS3 on the big screen with a real controller...looks like Im going to get it!
