Thread title is wrong. It's just Kamiya who said that he'd be happy with being 2nd party. Of course, why would Nintendo want that?

Why not? Even if Platinum becomes second party (maybe they are technically already) or even if they become first party like Monolith another project together with Konami is clearly possible.

I think most are thinking 200-300k by the end of the year (I predicted slightly higher pre-release). That's still really bad sales and guaranteed to lose a lot of money.

I don't think they have any promotions going on, but I know a lot of people were expecting Nintendo to do some cross promotion like they did with Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei 4 on 3DS.

Nintendo will have a lot of games but will lose a lot of money on Platinum. I'd like to think Nintendo is smarter than that.
