But not all comments that annoy people are trolling. Think about that.

Annoying posts with an agenda behind them... probably.

Firstly, for some reason my phone wont let me remove quote trees. Sorry 'bout that.

Secondly, if he does have an agenda then his actions here are no different than your own actions from a few months ago regarding EA. You had an agenda behind every EA post, which you made very clear. He may have an agenda, but even then, there was nothing wrong at all with his post.

You cant moderate based on assumptions, because a post annoys you.

Fair point.

Second Party? Nintendo what are you thinking about? You should had bought them long ago. This are the kind of studios Nintendo needs to have another kind of games in their platforms.

@bolded: I agree. I always wondered why Nintendo didn't maintain a close relationship with Silicon Knights after Eternal Darkness, but then I learned more about Dyack...

Platinum, on the other hand, is a much better fit for Nintendo.

And for all of those people puzzled as to why either party would be interested after the poor sales of The Wonderful 101, just ponder for a moment how well a proper Star Fox could turn out with Platinum at the helm. I seriously doubt that game would bomb.

It doesn't matter if The Wonderful 101 doesn't sell well, Platimun Games has already shown their value. They are good developers, and I agree with you. Clearly Nintendo doesn't know what to do with some of their franchises (Star Fox and Metroid), but Platimun Games has experience enough to make a Star Fox or Metroid game, or even new IP's.

"Nintendo needs new Ips"
"OMG W101 bombed worldwide based on sales in 1 region."
Clearly the only reason you ask for new Ips is to troll their sales numbers.
Why people calling it a bomb aren't being banned for trolling is beyond me.
Its clearly against the rules to act like 1 regions sales are worldwide sales because tis a comment made with no basis or merit.

lolwut

People are calling it a bomb because it sold horribly and will not make its budget back. I don't think anyone expected to do super well (there's a VGC prediction thread), but it's done much worse than most would have thought.

Am I the only one who thinks we should start a petition to at least get this in the forefront of Nintendo's head?

They did helped Kojima with Rising, so, I guess no more of that, huh?

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

The point is that those sales were only reached after it had extreme price drops (it was $20 less than 3 months after release and dropped further as time went on). The game flopped and there's no way to really spin it.

If the game had been released for $30 rather than being released for $50 and then dropped to $30, would you still be considering it a flop?

Guess what - a game is only a flop if it fails to make back the money spent on making it. Madworld was nowhere near a AAA game, it's very likely that it made a profit. Furthermore, even if the game only manages to sell well when it drops to $10, you still have a lot of people who ended up playing the game and would be interested, to one degree or another, in a sequel - this establishes the possibility that a bigger sequel would sell better.

But hey, why bother with rationality, when you can make assertions of games flopping just because they didn't sell millions of copies?

Hopefully, there is a massive meltdown because i need a good laugh

Over platinum games?? I doubt anyone even cares.

did you not see the meltdowns when bayonetta 2 was made a Wii U exclusive.? It was the funniest shit ever - the whole intranetz exploded over a francise that only sold 2 million. I think many people care. Maybe you won't but i can guarantee there will be one ass hurt comment that will make my day.

Only 2 million? There were more people whinging about the move than ones who bought the original game!

If it is anything like the deal with Monolith Soft, Nintendo doesn't mind their second party studios working for other companies so long as the games are on Nintendo systems.

On topic, I'd love it so long as Platinum still gets to do the games they want/like to do.

Not only that, but they were quoting weekly sales figures after the game had only been available for two days, and treating a rumor that it only shipped 30K in Japan like gospel. I mean damn, that's taking it to a new level.

As long as Nintendo is funding the games then this is a good deal for them
