To those arguing for or against this. This has nothing to do with convenience and everything to do with MS banking on you buying a play n charge kit.

People here need to be smart enough to realize a situation where the whole point is to nickle and dime you.

They pay less for production and you pay more to gain convinence. That's all it is.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Imagine the outrage if the included batteries have a Sony label!

i like batteries. i can easily switch them when they are empty and don't have to use a cable while playing. i can also buy the 360 controller for much cheaper as the ds3 in germany. not sure if this is the reason but well, it's at least much cheaper.

and if you want to play with cable you don't need the extra weight and can have a lighter controller if you want to (well, that is not really something to talk about lol)

it's really absolutely nothing to complain about and only preference but well, gamers complain about everything (at least if it isn't for the product of their choice)

LOL AA BATTERIES!!! AHAHAHHAHAHA

We got a genius here. He realizes buying hardware at launch can be pricey.

Oh well, atleast the X1 isn't $599 US dollars.

At least at $599 in 2006 it came with a Blu Ray player and rechargable controller that had slight motion capabilities with six axis.

Good morning, pug, pug.

Do you really always have to argue about Sony and MSFT every chance you get?  Don't you ever get tired of it?

Man I was wondering the same thing.  It has to get boring saying the same thing over and over again as if you are going to change someone opinion.  Some people are fine with batteries some are not, in the end it did nto matter last gen it probably will not this time as well.

Still can't reach the RC buggy I bought for my son. It came with 6 batteries!! Suck that Xbone.

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

Am I the only one who will admit that their PS3 controller started losing its charge after a few years? Same thing with my rechargeable Wii station (Two of them, in fact--one from Nyko and one from Duracell--won't work at all) and my two Xbox Play and Charge kits last about an hour. As an owner of all 7th gen consoles, I play my PS3 wired, use rechargeable batteries for my Wii, and use the cable for my Xbox 360 controllers. At least I can change the batteries in my 360/Wii controllers. That's a good thing.

I can only wonder what will become of my Wii U controllers (both standard and Pro) in a few years.

Nail on head.

Accessory sales for profit.

Should have included a removable rechargable battery pack if anything

Meanwhile, the Dualshock 4 is far more advanced AND is rechargeable. I don't having to put batteries in a gaming device since I owned a GBA... Good job Microsoft... Way to be with the times...
