Skyward Sword vs Twilight Princess - Who did better overall?

Skyward Sword 52 44.07%

Twilight Princess 66 55.93%

I have played all the Zelda games and Twilight princess is the second worst, just ahead of Phantom Hourglass. So of course Skyward Sword did a LOT things better.

Twilight Princess - everything,

I think Twilight Princess did everything better, dungeons, boss fights, mini games, items, I was just so bored by SS.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Twilight had better music, and a much better overworld. Skyward sword had better dungeons, and graphics. TP is my least favorite Zelda, but skyward sword is right behind it. Overall I would say: they both suck.

I just added a poll, I forgot to do it from the beginning.
I see a lot of mixed opinions here, which to ME proves one thing, every Zelda excels at something.

Skyward sword is miles ahead in story telling and art imo
Dungeons were inconsistent
TP is pretty bland

I don't get how people are complaining about Twilight Princess' overworld. Hyrule Field in particular. I really don't. Never did and probably never will.

Am I the only one who thought it was absolutely awesome that it would take half an hour to run around the whole of Hyrule Field with Epona while slowly passing all those amazing locations and the many stunning views? I loved to do that, I loved how big and varied Hyrule Field was.

And empty? I never got that either. Were you not looking hard enough? There's plenty of mini-dungeons and secret paths to find. There's plenty of collectables (the bugs and poes) to hunt down. What was everyone expecting? It's a field! Of course it's vast and open!

To me Twilight Princess had the perfect overworld. I hope they build on that for the WiiU game.

I wish I could offer a more informed opinion, having only played one of them. With that said, I can't imagine that Twilight Princess could come anywhere near Skyward Sword's level of stunningly unintuitive design. The non-critical aspects, like the graphical style and character design, was excellent, and it had some good, though rather simplistic, dungeons. What it didn't have was a story, a non-dungeon space, or a gameplay foundation worth spending any real time on.

Everything I've seen, heard, or read of Twilight Princess, however, indicates that its a game I'll actually want to finish. Not perfect, but at least solidly put-together.

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

I have only played SS a few hours, but I found Twilight Princess boring. So boring I couldn't bring myself to finish it.
Skyward Sword seems much more hopeful.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

This thread is going pretty much the way I expected it to. There are somewhere between 3 and 4 million people who bought and played Twilight Princess but did NOT play Skyward Sword, and that is immediately apparent. There are a similar number of people who bought and played Twilight Princess but did NOT play Wind Waker. So what do Wind Waker and Skyward Sword have in common?

I'm not saying all of those 3-4 million gamers are allergic to color and want Zelda to be dark and gritty and brown and gray all the time. I'm not even going to suggest that they're simply allergic to motion controls. I'm just saying... Twilight Princess is relatively bland and I hope I never have to say that about another Zelda game ever again.
