I know right? The word overrated is overrated.

My point is that The Last of Us did push story telling forward in the same way games like Bioshock and Halflife did before it. I wouldn't have enjoyed Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite nearly as much if their story telling wasn't good. Cause most FPS games don't do much to me. But in the case od that game series, it does it well enough and different enough to be appealing to me. |
Well, fair enough - not saying it's a bad game, on the contrary, I just personally don't see it that important as Half Life/System Shock 2/Bioshock were, but that might just come to personal preference. (which I'm sure it is, e.g., I find I cared much more for Horatio and Crispin in Primordia (just finished it last week) than I ever did for Joel and Ellie, so, I guess I haven't found TLoU story that much engaging to begin with)

Hipster is insulting to me >.<

| veritaz said: MY argument is not invalid at all. Grand theft auto is higher so my argument still stands, plus games do not get scored higher at the end of a gen, idk how you even think that is true. TLOU reviews are completely justified and plz saying mario galaxy did some amazing innovate stuff is laughable, I beat it and it was the same old mario gameplay and story. Oh and defending Quarter to 3 when they completely score opposite to every other reviewer is pathetic, I guess halo 4 is a 2/10 while star wars pinball is a 10/10. Your argument is very weak. |
So reviewers have to regurgitate the same score as every other reviewer to be deemed legitimate?
All reviews are just glorified opinions.

I think you have confused the word "combat" with "gameplay" |
Nope, both are vastly different.

both are 3rd person shooters, both have similar melee combat, though TLOU has a few elements added into it, remember i said "near" identical. That's all "combat" is so I guess I was right. If you were thinking I meant that TLOU was a run and gun shooter or something, that's your problem, not mine.
Something...Something...Games...Something
You really do have to play the full game to appreciate it, I think it was intentionally made slow to begin with because i remember there was a point when i took notice of the graphics among other things before i suddenly got into the game.
If you have read anything on this game before playing it then i think you have ruined alot of the experience for yourself, even the simplicity of the seasons adds a lot to the game story and game play wise especially when at the start your wondering exactly where this game might go

Some of the scores are just plain insulting |
Insulting because they're unpopular?
@sales
Lol at the comic. So true. One of my biggest disappointments with the game. It truly sapped out the immersion every time something like that happened. Bill or Ellie actually bumped into a clicker once or twice during stealth moments and nothing happened. It blew me away how god-awful the enemy and friendly AI was sometimes. Human enemies seemed much, much better, though.
Absolutely horrible enemy AI was one of my biggest complaints in U3 as well. I love ND, but they really need to get there stuff together in the AI department.
