Lol at the comic. So true. One of my biggest disappointments with the game. It truly sapped out the immersion every time something like that happened. Bill or Ellie actually bumped into a clicker once or twice during stealth moments and nothing happened. It blew me away how god-awful the enemy and friendly AI was sometimes. Human enemies seemed much, much better, though.

Absolutely horrible enemy AI was one of my biggest complaints in U3 as well. I love ND, but they really need to get there stuff together in the AI department.

The alternative would have been worse. The friendly AI was a conscious design choice. Not a flaw of the AI.

Imagine you setup the best strategy to take care of the surrounding enemies, you take your sweet time and are being extra careful. Only to have your plan turn to shit because the A.I. reacted to the enemies and they spot you because of it. No "escort mission" games has ever done a good job with friendly A.I. and have always had their big share of frustration because of how those A.I. characters would not act the way you'd want them to.

In TLoU's case, yeah, it can momentarily break the immersion, but it does so at the expense of the usual frustration that would occur otherwise. Not a bad trade-off if you ask me.

Then there was the fact that characters would talk aloud one room away from a Clicker without it hearing, that deflated the immersion like a burst balloon. (Still a very good game from what I played though)

Are we all that biased that all Sony fans are like "OMG BEST GAME EVARRR!" (including myself) and more Xbox related people react like this to it? It's just a thought, no offense intended.

I dnt think Sony fans have with this gme. I have Sony fans friends who rate Uncharted and may others above TLOU.

Reviewers seem to have seen a different game.

At least so far for me it could have been so much better.

Not my friends.   All of my friends who own this game (At least 5-10) say it is better.  Can't help you bud...

That still happened once. A carefully placed molotov cocktail to draw the clickers like moths to the flames, yet the AI thinks you have opened fire and starts shooting drawing them towards you instead. At least Bill did. Manage your friends as well as your enemies.

I just finished a second playthrough, just as great as the first one. The AI still got the best of me a couple of times. It's always a difficult balance, do you make the AI hunt the player down completely, or allow for safe zones and them to come in small groups. As for breaking immersion, I'm glad Ellie didn't hang back all the time as she did save my butt numerous times. But next time, at least make her tip toe around instead of heavy grunt, stomp stomp stomp. Oh well some comedic relief.

Just finished this game. Loved it, wished more games had an awesome story as TLOU. I still hate the Clickers and I will never look at a Brick the same way again.
