No your wrong. This game has been in development since the end generations development(2011). They're no Nintendo overseers on one of SEGA's game!. Nintendo came to SEGA for their help. Nintendo is paying SEGA for their. Nintendo is offering many other incentives for SEGA's help. Your comparison is completely different because this is a "deal" between Nintendo and SEGA not some outsource project that Nintendo choose SEGA for( which your post described). Anybody that Nintendo strikes a deal with is in driving seat.

I'm not entirely sure why you care that much either way. For one thing, I'm pretty sure Nintendo is helping with development, at least in a support role. Second, where was it ever stated that Nintendo "went to Sega for help"? They inked this deal with Sega, period. And considering the state of development that both this Sonic game, as well as the new Mario & Sonic Olympics, as WELL as the fact that the rumored racing game is also slated for this year, if those games are so far along in development, that means that this deal was very likely put in place in secret LAST year, closer to Wii U's launch, if not considerably beforehand. It takes time to develop games, if they're not rushed garbage.
Meaning, that Nintendo wouldn't have "gone to Sega for help" in that instance, because the Wii U wasn't even out yet, and thus there was zero way of knowing that it's sales were going to slump (they also probably didn't forsee certain Wii U projects being pushed back at that point). The more likely scenario, is that Sega and Nintendo simply entered into an agreement to support their new console, end of story. They had already been previously working together with the Mario & Sonic series, which Nintendo did help out with, and putting Sonic in Brawl, etc.
That isn't to say that Sega isn't doing all the development themselves. But why would it be so horrible to think that Nintendo was overseeing/supporting the project via one of their technical teams? I don't think that's bad at all.
