COD stole the show in previous E3 events of MS, so it will do it this time too. I know it's your gut feeling too, that the people most likely will be disappointed by the Xbox show and lack of exclusive games.

Btw, what 3rd party stuff did PS4 have? I forgot...

Sorry, only just seen this.

3rd Party Games -

Diablo 3 from Activision-Blizzard - Just an announcement. No gamepaly footage shown
Deep Down from Capcom - Tech Demo
Watch_Dogs from Ubisoft - That's 1
The Witness from the guys who made Braid - Indie Game. Doesn't count as 3rd party.
Final Fantasy Tech Demo from Square Enix - Tech Demo
Destiny from Bungie/Activision - Just an annoucement. No gameplay footage shown.

Sony Games -

Killzone Shadowfall
Knack
DriveClub
inFamous Second Son
Quantic Dream Tech Demo

6 Projects from 3rd parties. 5 projects from Sony.

Showing a lot of 3rd party games isnt a problem. Its certainly not a problem when one the franchises youre showing, Call of Duty, is currently the biggest franchise in videogames.

Edit - Actually, 6 from Sony. I forgot the Media Molecule Move thing.

Sony's 1st party showings completely overshadowed the 3rd parties.

MS gearing up. A live TV event is much better than a internet streamed deal. I think they will top Sony here, CoD is the no.1 franchise in the US, and plus they're going to have the Respawn game also it sounds like, which is a huge coup. Probably a few other surprises too.

Oh shit... CoD on Nextbox conference, this is very good news for MS because it brings attention from CoD fans (which are MANY casuals)...

Bleh. No CoD on Wii U... Sony and Nintendo, damage control now!!!!!

He asked for 3rd party stuff, I gave him the 3rd party stuff.

Diablo 3 has outsold every Killzone game combined. Diablo 3 has outsold every inFamous game combined. Diablo 3 has outsold every LittleBigPlanet game combined. Diablo 3 has outsold every MotorStorm game combined.

Diablo 3 overshadows everything Sony have released on PS3. From Gran Turismo 5 to PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale.

LOL How predictable is this? Thats two shooters that I am expecting to see at the show.

Exactly. So expected.

In reality people should be disappointed by this because it means MS has not many own games to show. I am disappointed by that.

But in this thread the whole thing is labeled as a master stroke of genious.

Brilliant analysis.

and the mis-spelling of genius is pure genius.  Bravo sir.

I have another quation...

will more people watch the launch because of this, or less?

lol

I think you misspelled "question".

More people will watch the launch yes, but honestly, do you want the Xbox to be considered as the multiplat console once again?

After all, the biggest audionce of the show will be people who are already deep into gaming, like the gamers on the internet. Don't you think the GAF people will complain if MS only showed say two core exclusives? They will say that MS relied on COD once again.

Oops.  just testing.

Anyway, so more people will watch it (Slimebeast) and it is a good move (S.T.A.G.E.).

MS: Mission accomplished.

Touché.

Damn it lol

From an economic POV it's a good move, but remember the respect factor. Gamers all around the world are upset by the focus on multiplatform games.

MS has opened as many studios as Sony has closed... I think you may be in for a surprise over the next 18 months.

For every studio Sony closed they've made two teams in other studios. Naughty Dog, Guerrilla and Media molecule are a few examples. So what’s your point again?

Interesting, but it will probably just be exclusive DLC. Still, pretty good for the Nextbox.

I guess I'm in the camp of "saw this coming a mile away" though I would've waited till the day of MS's press event for more of a OMG/WOW factor

Most CoD fans will still be in school during E3
Still - well played microsoft.

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.

Well if I get this on the next Xbox will I be able to play with 360 Gold members? That would be odd if you couldn't.

They do? those 3rd party games look a lot better than any of Sony's first party games but thats just my opinion.
