LOL How predictable is this? Thats two shooters that I am expecting to see at the show.

Exactly. So expected.

In reality people should be disappointed by this because it means MS has not many own games to show. I am disappointed by that.

But in this thread the whole thing is labeled as a master stroke of genious.

Brilliant analysis.

and the mis-spelling of genius is pure genius.  Bravo sir.

I have another quation...

will more people watch the launch because of this, or less?

lol

I think you misspelled "question".

More people will watch the launch yes, but honestly, do you want the Xbox to be considered as the multiplat console once again?

After all, the biggest audionce of the show will be people who are already deep into gaming, like the gamers on the internet. Don't you think the GAF people will complain if MS only showed say two core exclusives? They will say that MS relied on COD once again.

Oops.  just testing.

Anyway, so more people will watch it (Slimebeast) and it is a good move (S.T.A.G.E.).

MS: Mission accomplished.

Touché.

Damn it lol

From an economic POV it's a good move, but remember the respect factor. Gamers all around the world are upset by the focus on multiplatform games.

MS has opened as many studios as Sony has closed... I think you may be in for a surprise over the next 18 months.

You'll be surprised how efficient Sony has remained since closing those studios.

No Wii U edition, dang! Things really aren't looking good for Nintendo's third party relationships. Even if the game eventually releases on the Wii U, the fact that they didn't display the console at all shows their lack of care in support.

Where does it say that? It specifically states it will be on next-gen platforms.

It will be on WiiU/PS4/PS3/PC/X360/NXbox/and probably even Wii.

More than likely there will be  difference in online multiplayer for old and new gens, just like Watch_Dogs or was it ACV that was mentioned to be being build on next-gen first then old gen... specifically stating WiiU was part of next-gen.

I was basing it on the fact that they didn't mention the Wii U at all despite the fact that it's been out for half a year, and that their Amazon listings for pre-orders (which they link to for "pre-order now!") does not list the Wii U as an available platform.

I took it for granted that Activision wouldn't lump Wii U with "next gen" for 2 reasons. 1) It's already out and 2) it seems most devs don't consider it when they say "next gen."

Looks like I was wrong. =) Still weird that they wouldn't mention the platform though, considering the last CoD was out on it and the Wii U is in no way some sort of secret platform.

Dynamically generated missions tied into a global campaign that is also playable offline as a key new feature?  Players are dropped in hotspots, and how they do speaks to how the online campaign is going.  Also playable single player offline also, using the online world to update the gameplay.

I really didnt think that activision would choose MS again, after seeing bungie on the Sony event where EA was absolutely absent and then combined with the EA/MS rumour I actually thought they would favor the Sony camp!
I guess MS flashed with some money and Activision took the bait.

If EA appears too on any reveal(E3 and May) to announce exclusive content then MS officially won the first battle in the next-gen era in the dude-bro camp! The worst possible scenario for Sony  is if EA, ACTI and TAKE2 all have excl. content for the xbox, it would also mean that MS is going to use the same tactics that made the 360 so big in its lifetime.

The crazy thing is MS can afford to pay a hell of a lot more than NIN or SONY can do which is in some cases  unfortunate for this business.

Anyway see you on the 21st M/10th J guys!

let's see how it will look like compared to battlefield 3 and killzone (and other ego-shooters if they will show more of them)

ow.. now I'm even more hyped for the xbox reveal.. billions of casual players with me.. yes billions.. nice on MS

Most will be in school during the MSFT event.

Lol.. Does it matter that people won't see it live?.. #callofduty and #newxbox will be going around on social media like wildfire.. And on schoolyards the day after.. Really impressive that MS got this reveal from a marketing perspective.. There isn't anything bigger the CoD..

Not that impressive. They've been in parnetship with Activision for years now promoting COD. This is actually expected by most people at this point.

You know what would be impressive? If they snatch up all the big titles. GTA V, Battlefield 4..etc. if these all have timed-DLC then MSFT is in for a great launch.

This is a marketing master stroke.  You can downplay all you want.

I'm not downplaying anything. They've been doing this for years already for the 360. Remember?

what are you talking about...?

this is the reveal of the next COD at the reveal of the next xbox.

That is a brilliant move.

This has zip to do with the past or the 360.

Oh but it does. This is a continuation of the timed-exclusive deal that has been going on for years. Is this big for Microsoft? Definitely.

Is this some kind of bombshell or megaton? No.

Some of you get so defensive for no reason at all.

Here's the thing, you people are acting like Microsoft won the lottery. In a way, they did. But they've been winning it for years now.

Actually I have seen tons of speculation here and on GAF about Activision and EA potentially switching "partners" next gen after all the EA/MS rumors and the Destiny timed-exclusive stuff at the PS4 reveal. So it's far from "expected by most people".

CoD at the reveal is already hugely impressive. If Activision announces it there along with another timed-exclusive DLC deal, wow. Then you add on the potentially exclusive Respawn game and suddenly MS has the 2 biggest 3rd party games in the biggest genre of the most important market nailed down. And then unlike Sony, they also have a AAA franchise in that genre of their own.

Snatching up GTA V timed-exclusive DLC would also be another coup, but I dare say not as big as CoD or an exclusive Respawn game. BF4.. meh. Didn't PS3 have timed-exclusive BF3 DLC? It was such a big deal, I don't even remember it.

Per usual, you're downplaying.

Read my comment towards Kowen. Same applies to you and everyone else in my fanclub.

COD stole the show in previous E3 events of MS, so it will do it this time too. I know it's your gut feeling too, that the people most likely will be disappointed by the Xbox show and lack of exclusive games.

Btw, what 3rd party stuff did PS4 have? I forgot...

Sorry, only just seen this.

3rd Party Games -

Diablo 3 from Activision-Blizzard
Deep Down from Capcom
Watch_Dogs from Ubisoft
The Witness from the guys who made Braid
Final Fantasy Tech Demo from Square Enix
Destiny from Bungie/Activision

Sony Games -

Killzone Shadowfall
Knack
DriveClub
inFamous Second Son
Quantic Dream Tech Demo

6 Projects from 3rd parties. 5 projects from Sony.

Showing a lot of 3rd party games isnt a problem. Its certainly not a problem when one the franchises youre showing, Call of Duty, is currently the biggest franchise in videogames.

Edit - Actually, 6 from Sony. I forgot the Media Molecule Move thing.

Activision represents the same business ideals Microsoft has plus they are invested in Xbox Live.

Wow wasnt expecting that honestly. That just ensured many more people willbe watching the reveal now considering how huge CoD is

Come on bro, you're seriously saying you didnt see this coming?

"Everyone was expecting us to make Modern Warfare 4, which would have been the safe thing to do. But we're not resting on our laurels," Rubin said in a statement. "We saw the console transition as the perfect opportunity to start a new chapter for Call of Duty. So we're building a new sub-brand, a new engine, and a lot of new ideas and experiences for our players. We can't wait to share them with our community."

No I can't say I did.  I expected CoD for next gen but I thought it would just be a port, not a completely new engine and game.  I give Activision and Infinity Wards props for going to next gen with a new title and new engine.

I did. Even Capcom put up a new engine. Well I hope you like it.

For pity sake what is wong with you?

For MS, is this dual reveal of the next xbox and the next gen COD.....

a bad move?

or a good move?

simple question...

Its a good move. Predictable move, but still a good move. I dunno I want to see an action/adventure, platformer, puzzle game, rpg game or something from them or something. Microsoft have very much of their own so something refreshing is always welcome.

Really? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=5313008

That was probably the biggest ownage VGC has ever seen.

Well done sir.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
