Kid Icarus...how is this original?
Dillion's Rolling Western....how is that original or new? Guessing you haven't played Orcs Must Die?
Pullblox...another kid focused platformer. How un-Nintendo...

It's the same as ever with Nintendo. Japanese/kid-orientated games. The last Nintendo console that wasn't focused on such games was the N64, and yet to see something ground breaking from them. Where is their Gears of War, their Heavy Rain? SotC? DMC? They haven't done anything radical since SM:Galaxy.

Three wild guesses regarding the games - and three times totally wrong. You didn't play any of these games and have no idea what you're talking about. But thanks for joining the discussion.

And regarding Shadow of the Collossus: in a way Pandora's Tower is a lot like it. Don't know if Pandora's Tower is counted as first-party or second-party or whatever though.

But LOL at naming four games, that have three of them older than SM:Galaxy and then saying Nintendo had nothing new since Galaxy.

Right asking two questions is "wrong". Lolwut? Explain how asking a question can be "wrong".......

This conversation is about Nintendo though and not the other companies so you don't have a point. Do I think all the companies are lacking originality? Yes. But this conversation is about Nintendo, not MS or Sony. Don't digress ;)

Hmm, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Dillon's Rolling Western, Pullblox - out of new ideas?

Wait a minute.. what?

He gave you Dillon's Rolling Western, which you dimiss as an Orcs Must Die clone. Then you turn around and ask where Nintendo's clones of other established franchises are. What exactly do you want from them? You do know that just because it doesn't appeal to you, doesn't mean its not "new" to them.

No you misunderstand what I meant. I said where are Nintendo's new and original ideas, like how those games were for Sony, not make a clone of them......

kid icarus is awesome specially after not having a since the GB, Dillon is epic and a nice aproach to mixing rpg with TD and trust me if in the next smash game they include Dillon or Geno as a playable character i will buy 100 copies. i cant say anything about pushmo/pullblox i haven't played them yet but i know they are great.

what i think chrizum is talking about is usign all those great ideas in full 39.99 3ds games or 59.99 wii u games

I love Dillon and I say for some time now, that he should be SSB. KIU is a full-priced 3DS-game, but the others are downloads. I don't think we should overlook these titles, only because they are download-titles.

Freakyforms (another new idea by the way) made the jump to retail.

Your question took the form of assumptions. If you don't know the games, why do you assume I'm wrong in stating they have fresh ideas? So I handled them as such. So you don't know how KIU is original? Go, play it. You ask if Dillons Rolling Western is like OMD? Answer: no. Your assumption Pullblox is a platformer because you googled a video of Pullblox and saw Mallo jumping: laughable.

You should do your research better, if you try to fish for angry answers of Nintendo-fans.

You need to touch up on your definitions of 'assumption' and 'question'....One cannot be the other. I'm also waiting to hear your replies to the questions I posed.

If you think a single statement without an explanation is a valid reply, I hate to tell you it's not because I can just reply with "no you're wrong about that. And everything else. Ever."

The fact I asked a few questions and you went ape shows that you obviously don't have good genuine replies for the questions I posed otherwise I would like to think, being a rational nice person, you would have replied with civilised answers over going nuts.

Ah I see now.

In that case, it makes things a bit more complicated because Nintendo's software originality is mixed in with their hardware originality. I'd call the Wii U a new idea in this case, because of the asynchronous gameplay elements they will eventually introduce to their IPs. Its hard to really back it up now since Nintendo's software output for the Wii U has been.. well.. limited, though I expect a lot of titles to come. I'd hope Nintendo wouldn't let a flagship console fail at least. The original content that has come out for Wii U so far (Nintendo Land, ZombiU) has shown that the tablet play offers a creative new way to immerse someone into a game. Another important thing to remember is that when Nintendo comes up with a new gameplay idea, they look to apply it to an existing franchise rather than creating a new IP. That's why Super Mario Galaxy was fresh despite being part of a series that's been around for 30  years, and

Though I'm not concerned about Nintendo's originality, I do wish they'd expand their variety. Nintendo needs more Western-oriented studios. Not because I think Western > Japanese gaming (I think the opposite mostly), but because for a company that was so pervasive that many people referred to consoles as a "Nintendo", they've been lacking in trying to provide gaming experiences for all audiences. They're letting themselves become niche, which will hurt their business in the long run.

You state, Nintendo didn't do anything radical since SM:G, although I named three games. Remember, you didn't said they weren't original, you only 'asked questions', that is not stating facts, right? So your statement at the end is clearly wrong and you didn't do enough research.

And to ask you some question (remember, questions are not statements and cannot be wrong):

SotC? How is this original?

Gears of Wars? Is it another gory shooter?

Devil May Cry? How is that original or new? Guessing you haven't played Golden Axe?

Heavy Rain? Since then count action-adventures as new and fresh?

Remember, I ask only questions, so I cannot be wrong.

You shouldn't went ape shows, only because I showed you are wrong, you should take a heart and say: yes, in this case I was probably wrong. Nothing bad, everyone is wrong from time to time. No reason to be ashamed of.

Yeah the Wii U does have potential - for example a mech game where the touchpad has all the controls rather than using the buttons.

However, nothing like his seems to be on the cards...It really seems that Nintendo just expected the Wii U to sell "cuz". I completely agree they need more western devs as they certainly seem to be going down the route of becoming niche which, considering how much fun I had on the SNES and N64, would be rather tragic.

Dude why are you refusing to answer the questions I posed? Instead of ignoring them or digressing, just answer them....Seriously, how is Kid Icarrus or that 3rd person tower defence game original? Same with the blockpull game....

They are unwilling. It's a shame really since with the install base of the Wii they had the perfect chance to introduce a new core IP.
