I don't want Atlus to go first party. I also don't want the team that makes great RPGs to be destroyed. So I hope the company is selled as a whole and operation is kept intact. Sega or Namco would be great, because we could expect more games coming to the west (especially europe).

Not from Namco. If they are hesitant to release mainline Tales series, they sure as hell ain't bringing the Etrians over.

The Persona Series and maaaaybe SMT.

I would even say that Sega is far worse when it comes to bringing niche Japanese games to the West (all the Shining Games on the PSP, Hatsune Miku, Yakuza 5 /HD collection, Valkyria Chronicles 3 etc. )....

So I would go with Nintendo or Sony (preferebly Nintendo )

PS: Hi VGchartz :D

That's why. There wasn't really much of a point.

I actually think they should go with Sony. If the 2 Japanese console makers can get some good 1st party Japanese RPG support, maybe Square would make better games thanks to some competition.

Yes, I agree. I would prefer Nintendo, but I can live with Sony too, but these are (imo) the only viable options.

Nintendo should buy Atlus in a heartbeat

Rise of Sega!!!

the way BN treats their own RPG's i'd say HELL NO!!

Sony, please be Atlus's saving grace....or Nintendo...I just want my Persona 5 dammit!!!

Sega's philosophy falls more in-line with Atlus's. Square Enix could potentially be ok, judging by how good Eidos has been doing after the acquisition.

Sega would have my vote.

If any of the big 3 were to think grab Atlus I would hope it would be Sony.

Why? It's simple. Sony is more likely to allow Atlus to keep doing what they have been doing. They are well known for granting developers plenty of freedom.

It also wouldn't hurt for Sony to have all Atlus titles exclusive to Vita.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I for one think Square has no $$ to make such an acquisition and they are focusing more on the West nowadays anyways.

Also they could ruin them with Poor management. Can Index recover btw?

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

I'm praying to the Gods Sony would buy them...outside of fanboyism, Sony is the only company I see letting ATLUS continue making games they want without much interference

Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I don't want that Atlus's games become ownership of large companies .

The risk is that they want to localize these games if only they can sell a large amount of quantities    .

This is why I prefer small companies (Atlus , Nihon Falcom) than big companies .

Currently Atlus is not present in europe. If a Atlus-game comes to europe, it has to find a different publisher. A publisher with presence in europe would increase the possibility of the games reaching europe. That they are hesitant to take the risks is clear. But the wait for EOIV is killing me, while it is available in the US. Also EO II and EO III didn't even reached europe.
