The Xbox3 will probs be more powerful but that doesn't bother me, I'm getting a PS4 for the same reason I got a PS3.. It has the best games!

My point is GDDR5 is overkill with a midrange graphics card! And as long as data is streaming from a hard drive or even worse - an optical drive such as bluray then the system is bogged down.. The faster components help to an extent but they have to wait on data to come in from the slower pieces even though those faster pieces are capable of going much quicker |
Interesting Reads. I really don't understand all the lingo but yours seems to make the most sense. Thanks for the good read. LOL
The only way the 720 could be any noticeably more powerful is if it was more expensive. Surely if they put in 12GB of DDR5 Ram, that's bound to bring the price up to the $500 to $600 price range. Now they could decided to take a loss on each console sold, but would they really be willing to take a significant loss on each one after what happened with rlod? The current prices for 360s suggests otherwise. So, I wouldn't look for it to be drastically more powerful if it is more powerful.
Then you've got the fact that they still also have to become synonymous with more than Halo and Gears to really catch on worldwide to avoid a repeat of this gen.

What was the repeat of this gen? Selling, 3x the amount as last and still selling. Getting a big portion of sony's exclusive's to come on over to 360. Making a sh-t ton of cash and lets not forget that they have been building up studio's. As I see it, they have positioned themselfs great for the next generation. If they have as much success in how much they progressed. Next gen is going to blow up for them.
I agree they need more first party support but to avoid the level of success and progress is putting your head in the sand

Honestly, I can't imagine the difference will be meaningful either way. Uncharted 4-6 will look fantastic. Halo 5-7 will look fantastic. Third-party games will probably be identical. The only difference would be that the 720 would become the new focus of all the "PC LOOKS BETTER" threads. |
It did matter for all the 'PS4 is so much better than WiiU' and 'WiiU is last gen tech'-threads. What if Nextbox makes PS4 look like last-gen tech? Not that I believe that will happen, but that was what the OP asked.

Then no one will buy it because it will be way too expensive.
I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name.

Yes probably, but MS-fans will always point out that PS4 is not truly in the same gen.

Really, why is that?
