Lol, Dreamcast w/ 9 million sales? It's impossible. Even if WiiU become GameCube (I don't believe it) Nintendo will make tons of money with its software (Smash alone would sell millions...)

I wonder who wrote this and why he thought it was an interesting or original topic. You see like every struggling platform compared to the Dreamcast nowadays and it's complete bs. The market has expanded so much since then, and SEGA was on extremely shakey ground to begin with after dropping the Saturn unexpectedly, as well as add-ons for the Genesis.

Dreamcast would have easily been the #2 system that generation if it weren't for heavy piracy or Sega being in massive debt. Neither debt nor piracy are an issue with Nintendo or Wii U.

Even aside from Nintendo's first party games, which will turn the tide, the Dreamcast was facing far more dire problems than the Wii U, as others have already said: Sega were coming off the failed Saturn, and the Dreamcast was pirated to hell and back.

that´s too early to say something about Nintendo´s future. It seems that everyone just forget that amazing Nintendo direct weeks ago, where games like the new 3d Mario, Super Smash Bros, , new Mario Kart, Yoshi´s Island, the new Monolith RPG, SMT X FE crossover, Bayonetta 2.

I don´t think that both PS4 and Xbox720 will sell so much more than the WiiU just because those are going to be very expensive consoles. I think this generation will see very close number for all three consoles, if all of they survive. At the worst scenario, WiiU will sell about half of what the Wii sold and that would be fine for Nintendo. They´re not aiming to be the first, they´re just aiming to please their fans

I agree. And I made a big mistake that time. After playing at the Dreamcast of a friend I was thinking about buying the Dreamcast (would have been my first console). nintendo is not doomed. or at risk of failing. they are a company that sells items at a profit. they dont need market share to succeed like other companies do. they just need sales, which they get. I know the wii u sold a slight loss, but that will be made up quickly once prices come down on making the wii u.
