Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo is DOOMED. Wii U doing abysmally and Iwata's job is at RISK

I'm not sure what Nintendo is expected to do. They released two big games at launch, have a bunch of studios making games, made a platform more powerful than the competition to attract 3rd parties, made a controller with MORE functionality than the conventional type, etc, etc.

In retrospect, here's what I think Nintendo could have done.

1. Launched with a more robust online shop, with more cheaper games and a Virtual Console system.
2. Shifted some studios away from 3DS development and towards Wii U development. For example, Camelot could have made Mario Tennis: Open an early Wii U game.
3. Buy and/or create more studios to work on Wii U titles.

But really, these are relatively minor things. I question the relatively early launch of the Wii U now, but seeing how the decision was made to enter the 8th generation in 2012, I don't know what else could have been done.

I'm not even a Nintendo fan and I don't see why everyone is freaking out with the Wii U's slow start.

Thanks to the casuals.... Who don't know what a Wii U is, and yes the DS & 3DS Mario game sales came from the casuals.

A franchise like MK can't gain 25m fans in one gen.<-------- Proved my point.

Except it did gain that many fans in 1 gen so how is your point proving??.

I proved that it gained 25m sales fromthe casuals. Read the comments and try to understand them before you comment.

since the 3DS is the best selling system at the moment i guess sony and M$ are dead

What does that have to do with anything?

He's talking about the WiiU's very very low sales. Nintendo is heading into the wrong direction, their last financial report was very disapponting.

"Hardcore" (read moronic teenagers with no jobs and no life) gamers bitched about how the Wii was a piece of shit and abandoning the "hardcore" gamer. Now Nintendo is going the "hardcore" approach and now everyone is saying they have failed.

It's been the same story for the past 15 years. These whiny fucking gamers need to shut the fuck up.

MODS WE ARE STUCK IN HERE. FIX THE DAMN THREAD!

Edit: Why is page 4 the only page that's messed up?

@pezus lol you mentioned PS4.. look it fixed half of it on my end anyway.. the universe is slowly realigning it self again.. dont ever say Nintendo not doomed.. it jus breaks the order of the world..

Same thing, nada to see here, let's just move on...

Exactly how have you proved it got 25M sales from the casuals??, also i think you could do with taking your own advice .

Mario Kart: Double Dash!! 6.95m

Mario Kart Wii 33.42m

The above is your proof. How did Mario Kart Wii sell all those copies when the previous MK sold only 7m?

And if it's because of the userbase difference between the Wii and the Gamecube. Why didn't the so called 33M "hardcore" fans that obviously love Mario Kart get a GameCube to play Mario Kart: Double Dash?
