Nintendo simply needs more games, and if they cannot provide them, a price drop is in order, as that should at least temporarily boost sales.

The PS2 was sold out EVERYWHERE, and had an historically long drought software wise it's first year on the market. It has little to do with software and more to do with bad strategy. Nintendo completely screwed up from top to bottom and this is the result.

With that first image you'd think the Wii is doomed...

Also, Nintendo makes good games that people want to buy, so this is a non-issue. Come Q2, Q3 2013 all will be back on track.

I don't know why anyone are surprised by these sales. No games have come out since launch, so of course it's going to sell horribly. It's going to be a rough month and a half, but things should improve as more games come out.

I've been feeling the same as of late. Seems like they've delayed a lot of games so they can take a hit this FY but be in all profit April onwards. Risky strategy, but they have time on their side I guess.

People talking about things being this bad because of lack of games should look at the first few months of the PS3: barely any exclusives and much higher price and still sold much better than the Wii U is selling now.

This isn't some top-of-the-line, cutting edge gaming system that doubles as a blu-ray player. It's a Nintendo system. It needs games to sell.
