We too don't have Fire Emblem yet, but I cannot believe we got 4 times the demos than Australia.

I think this is an Australian-centered problem.

Nintendo australia sucks donkey dick - they hardly do anything for the australian nintendo fan base. Our club nintendo catoloque sucks so bad, it really pisses me off.
Bet with ninjablade:
Ninjablade wins if the next 5 multiplat on the wii u are inferior to the 360 version.
I win if one of the 5 mulitplats are on par or superior on the Wii U.

At least you have a reward program. Imagine how much it sucks when your country doesn't have one despite being located between countries that have one. |
Austria don't have a nintendo club catalogue? Can't you use the german one? Shouldn't they deliver to Austria?

Rol the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean aren't countries ;)

I have registered games and systems some years ago to get my stars, but since there was never any good reward I couldn't test if they deliver to Austria. What I do know is that the star cards that come with games state which countries are eligible and Austria is not among them. What I also know is that such cards are not included with games that are sold in Austria. |
Strange politics of Nintendo. I can't say I see any reason for this.
I agree the eshop is somewhat flawed.
Eshop games should at least be 15% cheaper than retail games.
Because:
1. Retail usually wants 20% so when you buy a $70 game at a retail store the store gets around $14 the rest goes to Nintendo/Dev/Publisher.
2. They dont have to make physical disks, manuals etc. which is not expensive at all but it still reduces the costs. So lets say this is 1% of the costs (even if its not).
So by pricing a $70 retail game at $55 (70/100* 21%). Nintendo/etc. would earn as much money as they would earn with the retail version.
But this might weaken the physical sales (which retailers certainly dont want to happen)
So if they would decide to discount digital games by only 15% they would still earn 6% more than with a retail game. And the game would be $59,99 instead of retail $70.
People that care about manuals disks etc the "collectors" would still buy at retail but people that dont need that stuff would be happy that they save $10 on a game.
The Demo thing is a problem because there is not enough games out there. And I am pretty sure that if Warner or EA dont want Batman or MassEffect as a DEMO Nintendo cant do a thing. So I hope time will fix this problem.
The biggest Problem for me is the VC pricing tho.
NES Games should cost 1 dollar (special ones* up to $3)
SNES Games $3 (special ones up to $5)
N64 Games $5 (special ones up to $8) and
GC Games $10 (special ones up to $13)
* special ones = first released in a territory with new translation (like Sin&Punishment for the N64 was on Wii)
that would be the correct WiiU VC pricing.
I mean I bought Balloon Fight for 30 cents and was shocked that this old things regular price is going to be 4/5? loool

The 3ds eshop has served me well when I've needed games for os trips and there weren't any retail games to buy...which has been 95% of the time...and I live in australia...
Pullbox and pushbox (I think they were called pushmo and pullmo in other countries), picross e and e2 and mutant mudds are all games I would have gladly paid full retail price for a few years ago.
I hope the wii u eshop ends up being as good (so far it seems like it will)...I could gladly live off the indy downloadable games alone if there were enough around.
(ok the demos side of thing may well be piss poor, esp in australia, but so far we've usually got the demo's I've been interested in...demo shmemo I say!!!)
I was so confused until I checked and saw you're from Australia... that explains everything. You guys really get the short end of the stick down there. :/
