Are they adding any new content to the game? If not I would urge everyone to just buy the 3DS copy for $20 instead of blowing $50. Unless you never plan on getting a 3DS of course.

Actually they are adding new content.  It may not be an awful lot, but it's still more content.

In regards to this whole topic, I think most of you got it wrong.  You guys make it seem like they're stupid.  No, they aren't stupid.  They make decisions based off of many things, even the seemingly stupid ones that end up failing horribly were not so simply made.

Stop acting as if they have no excuse and they are just trolls or are stupid or are "crap."

Objection...observe the evidence,

There's no explanation there. Is that the surprise?

Actually the 3DS has 3D & Virtual Surround Sound Speakerphones & a second screen to layout a lot of the extra weapons, to add to the Motion Sensor aiming.

But I'm not really going in about the 3DS doing 6 speaker sound thru the earphone jack & using motion sensors & touch screen.

Plus the 3D effect makes the screen seem much bigger and does some sort of anti-aliasing that works perfectly.

But the Explaination Capcom gave in that statement was that the 3DS screen has 3D to draw people into the game. And that they would have port it to the PS Vita if it only had a 3D screen as well.

So basically Capcom said that it was the lack 3D for the Vita's 5-inch screen that drew them to not port it to the PS Vita, while the Home Consoles & PCs have TV size screens from their monitors to their TV screens to still draw people into the game without the 3D effect.

FYI the 3DS is getting a 3rd Resident Evil exclusive, that is said by Capcom to be much more better then Revelations. And the 3DS still has Mercenaries which is the first 3DS exclusive, which is good for fans of such games as Call of Duty & Battlefield & so fort.

Capcom should make this for the vita.if they dont capcom can go to hell..

He later added:

3DS and PS-vita infrastructure let alone developing games for them are extremely different beasts. Even just the screens as you mention are completely different resolutions/functions.

“Resident Evil Revelations” was originally released exclusively on Nintendo 3DS in early 2011 where it was praised by critics. The “Unveiled Edition” will feature new content, HD visuals, and more when it sees release on May 21 for Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and Wii U.

That statement says it all........SCREENS FUNCTIONS

the 3D draws you into a world that without it would require a 13 inch up close or a TV because it would all be condensed to a flat image.

I got 7.1 Surround Sound Headphones that I use on my 3DS 6 speaker output earphone jack all the time (my headphone: PLANTRONICS GAMECOM 777)

I can tell you from playing the original game that with the Gyro Aiming (set to Gyro in the options of the game) & second screen to have a weapons layout by touch access on the fly without cluttering the screen nor pausing & the Surround Sound (realistic) & 3D effect (set to very strong option the options of the game) that this game on the 3DS was like actually being there in person like a puppet master.

You can download the free demo in the 3DS and go to options to change the aiming & 3D Depth within the Demo.

And it's much more interactive to use the Gyro for aiming for True Panarama View then a Second Analog like a PS2/GameCube.

Plus according to every website that test for the exact polygon count on both systems state that the PS Vita only has a maximum of 17.7 million more polygons then the 3DS.

Plus the PS3 & 360 drops down to 24 fps in 3D when they have the option, LITERALLY, but the 3DS version stays at 60 fps with the 3D ON, and it looks real cool to use special goggles that help you find special items in the game when playing with the 3D ON.

And there's StreetPass that you will miss out on.

Plus in order to tell the depth & distance in the game, you either need 720p 2D graphics or to pay it in 3D, and the PS Vita has neither functionality to tell depth & distance with its 540p 2D graphics, and Capcom was just trying to be nice about saying such a comment to explain this without offending a single video game system (they made games like Street Fighter X Tekken ported for the PS Vita)

I hope you guys understand the statement now about screens/functionality (as in needing to be able to tell the depth & distance of everything in the video game image)

Both the Wii & PS Vita aren't any good for games that require to tell depth & distance because of there Standard-Defintion 2D graphics. But 720p 2D graphics & stereoscopic 3D graphics work great to understand the distance & depth in the video games you are playing. (Capcom reason why NO PS Vita & Wii 2006 port)

But the Raid Mode (multiplayer mode) is greatly improve upon in the Home Console/PC version of this game.

By the way, does anyone know if the PS3 & 360 version will also be 1080p like the Wii U & PC version?

And may I add that both the Wii (2006) & PS Vita suck for trying to understand depth & distance in Video Games. But all the 360/PS3/Wii U needs is 720p 2D graphics & up. (and the 3DS has 3D without the glasses)

"rest of it"

You don't need 3D to tell depth in a game, and 720 does not magically let you over 540. The Vita's screen is 5" with a 16:9 ratio and is held right in front of you. That is fine in 540 and is actually above Standard Definition which is 480. You can call it sub HD if you want.

Also give this a read "The Vita can also handle an exponentially larger number of polygons per second. Polygons are the 3D building blocks most games are made with and the 3DS can hurl 15.3 million of them around the screen at one time. This is a decent figure, but the Vita can handle almost ten times this number, with 133 million polygons per second being processed." Here's a breakdown chart for easy reference http://www.nowgamer.com/features/1141172/ps_vita_vs_nintendo_3ds_vs_iphone_4s_specs_showdown.html

Notice the Vita has twice the resolution as the 3DS, which is 240 and know that the 3D effect cuts that to 120. 3D doesn't cut frame rate, it cuts resolution. Also know that Uncharted 3 runs native at Vita's resolution and upscales to 720.

Vita would be able to handle the graphical enhancements that they are placing in this HD version while still maintaining some of the original features in the 3DS version, like gyro aiming and Near functions as the equivelent to streetpass.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

And the PC is 13 inches & up, right in front of you. Vs. the 5 inch Vita screen. At least the 3D quote draws you in like playing on your PC monitor & HD TV.

He said draw gamers into the game. Without 3D that just leaves PC monitors right in front of you & HD TVs for 2D gaming.

But at the end of the day Capcom does have gaming reasons why not to bring it to the Vita. (not money reasons for this Port with improve multiplayer, maybe they just wanted actual HD graphics, which the PS Vita & Wii 2006 doesn't have)

So Capcom just wants beautiful visuals according to you, which still leads to 3D Graphics & HD Graphics, which both the Wii (2006) & PS Vita, still has neither of.

The Modern Home Consoles & PC offers HD gaming & the 3DS offers guarantee 3D gaming, while the Wii & PS Vita visually doesn't offer anything unique from PSP & GameCube except more Polygons.

Plus why do people care that the Vita displays up to 17.7 million more polygons then the 3DS for a Handheld? (the 3rd Party Devs have the Final Final Dev Kit to both Handhelds)

Lol no reasons what so ever.

It would appear that there's a lack of "business drive" where Vita is concerned.
